how to fly the p-40

That site deserves to be in some kind of flightsim hall of fame! http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/P-40.html The only major difference I see with the A2A manual is using the fuselage tank first instead of the reserve tank. Interesting bits on rpm for landing, 2650 recommended not mil power. EDIT Ano...

Re: aileron trim (or the lack thereof) + amperage questions

Thanks !

Aileron : nope, two models don't have electric aileron trim. I understand that mechanics were somewhat trimming the aircraft before flight.

aileron trim (or the lack thereof) + amperage questions

Hi New P-40 driver here fumbling around the cockpit of that extremely impressive aircraft :D (and happy to do it ). I've two questions at that stage : How do you counteract the roll tendency in the AVG and Tomahawk without aileron trim ? Why don't i have the 45 Amps on the ammeter promised by the ma...

Re: B377 vs P40

Thanks guys. I want both all right but got a very nice aircraft from another developper last week that proved slightly too rich for my laptop blood, nothing awful but... so I'm careful right now.

Re: A2A / Accu-Sim popularity continues to accelerate

Scott, Three weeks ago, I got back to simming after a five year break (real life...) but also a 30 year history of simming. The choice was a no-brainer between Flight and the highly modded FSX that guys like you and OrbX have constructed over the years. Got the A2A Cub to fly over OrbX PNW. The with...

B377 vs P40

I understand that they are two entirely different kind of aircraft and of simulation :) but considering the framerate/smoothness (stuttering propensity) what would be the the most forgiving for my present laptop that i cannot overclock over 3.2 gHz ? With Accusim of course.

Thanks for any insights

Re: Do I need pedals?

Using pedals, I may add that adding a turn & slip gauge (fuzzy dice anyone  ?) would make the already superb A2A Cub even better as there's no proverbial seat of the pants feeling in a sim.

Re: Online Cub Resources

I get back to simming after a very long time and to warm me up got myself the Cub to roam the OrbX countryside. I found this link in my archives which might help some to taxi, take off, cruise, do airwork and land : http://www.landings.com/sites/J-3-book/taxi.html Thanks for the great Cub, A2A, it's ...

Just to straighten things up, I think that for many users, as it is for me, what IS important are cockpit accuracy, gauges smoothness and flight modeling. I dunno about the SOH aircraft but I know that the WoP has got'em all. And thats why I fly her, from the inside  !

let's be cool (or of carburators and radiators)

Isn't the left side rightmost blue lever the carburator hot air control of the air induction system (the leftmost being the cold air) ? In your bird, it's labeled as the engine cowl flaps lever and actually moves the coolant/oil radiators air scoop flap aft and below the fuselage. If i'm not mistake...

now that's more like it :D, your P51 behaves like that , thanks, she indeed does straighten herself out ! I didn't find a mention of side slipping in the "flight handbook" Gabriel put in another thread. What are the references of your manual to see whether I can buy it online ? Nice bird...
