Re: Video Tutorials

I would like to see a proper video about leaning the mixture. Not just a video showing how you get the lean of peak and then you put a bit back. It almost seems that using the red ol' knob is a form of art. Like, how to lean when you have leaned for level flight, and you start to descent, but you us...

Re: A2A C172, elevator response: “It’s not a bug, it’s a fea

I was all the time sure it wasn't a bug or an unrealistic feature. The problem is, that not all of us, sadly, have a yoke or something that has equivalent travel of original Cessna 172 yoke. Regular joystick's travel is much more shorter, hence, 1cm with a joystick is not same as 1cm in a real cessn...

Plug fouling, just out of curiosity

The real 172R manual doesn't seem to mention much about plug fouling (few times though), i've done as teached, very soon after engine has started i lean the mixture and keep it at 900-1000rpm on the ground. I lean while flying and the mixture goes full rich on final. I have a bad habbit on this plan...

Re: Controller sensitivity + Transponder VFR button question

Are you talking about the Aircraft .cfg? What value did you use? Kind Regards Andrew Yes. I changed the elevator effectiveness to 0.9 (from 2.0) ... aileron effectiveness to 0.8 (from 1).... and i added some more effectiveness to elevator trim, i found it very slow, it was 0, now 0.2. as a consique...

Re: Controller sensitivity + Transponder VFR button question

About the sensitivity issue, i had to modify my .cfg file, sorry :( 2.0 for elevator effectiveness just was too much for my set up, the airplane abruptely jumped off the runway if i barely touched the stick, now i need juust a little backpressure to lift it up smoothly.

Controller sensitivity + Transponder VFR button question

This plane seems nice (although i've always had few issues with C172 cockpit layout in FSX, but it's a different story), my only woe is slightly too sensitive control inputs with my joystick, a2a planes are usually been perfect on this but this is, for me, a tad too sensitive on a cruise speed, is t...

Re: Accu-sim C172 Trainer - Pilot's Manual

Cool, i was hoping for a manual before the actual release. Thanks. I've actually been already reading 172R and S official manuals, and out of curiosity i must ask few questions. 1) In 172R, the CAS stall speed is pretty much the same as in SP model, which makes sense, but why the IAS stall speed is ...

Re: Question about oil aging behaviour

Hi, already posted this in the update thread, what is the source for the aging of the oil when she sits untouched? Does accusim calculate it based on the computer clock or the time of the FSX flight? Cheers E Both. As you run the engine, contaminants get trapped in suspension. These slowly build ac...

Re: Various questions

Used aircraft option sure does sound good! I hope we see stuff to get all out from this model. This means proper emergency training. An option that would make an inflight failure VERY probable (but not necessarily to happen), and it should be very random. FSX's own failure trigger sucks. I hope ther...

Pressurization during approach

When my FE operates my 377s pressurization panel, he usually have equalized the cabin- and outdoor pressure before final approach, so when i fly at 2500ft AGL to slow down after the descent, sometime soon after that in level flight at 2500ft or during initial approach pressurization is gone and cabi...

Idle Cut off start not possible / manual issues etc

Hi you all, been flying this beautiful plane for a 100+ hours already. Love it! However i noticed something.. I happened to see a genuine 1940s video about firing up the b17 engines, and this is backed up from a very authentic-looking checklists: The plane should be primed with mixture set to idle c...

Re: Low Carb Temperatures help

When i come down from a high altitude flight, like from 20-30kft, my carb temps drop too much. In my mind, i should use dry and warmer air from the wing rather than ramair after i've reduced the power and started the descent. Can somebody please explain me why my co-pilot whines about that? How can ...

Re: Accusim for GA-planes?

There's also one thing that is awesome with a2a planes i fly. The default view zoom is very back. I fly my spitfire with 0.3 and 0.4 zoom, as i do my B17. I have SIAI marchetti from realair, which i like too, but if i use 0.3 or 0.4 zoom with it, i am way too far, the cockpit looks stupidly wideangl...

Re: Accusim for GA-planes?

While we wait, it's worth taking a look at Marcel Felde's DA-20-100 Katana for Aerosoft. An excellent plane with full system detail and persistent wear, very much in the Accusim spirit. Yeah, almost bought that. Very interesting plane. But is it made by (partially?) same posse who did the Dornier D...
