Re: BOB2 WoV could coexsist with IL2:Cod - massive IDEA here

Flying a Spit model in BoB2 that reaches the level of fidelity of the A2A Accu-Sim Spitfire would be a dream, quite frankly. That said, I have to admit I have great fun with BoB2 as is. Just yesterday I had one of the best dogfights ever in fact. :) Was coming in too late to intercept a raid on Man...

Re: Returning to BoBII after long break

Hello Rob, fantastic to see you here! Sorry, been a bit distracted so not checking so much on this forum. Agree with you on ROF. Lovely thing, but just a bit, um, boring for me. I await an answer on the Spitfire flaps on COD. If that made it through I rather doubt I'll even buy it. Well no, I will, ...

Re: Bader/COD and Spitfires flaps over at simHQ

Evening, gents, from my temporary Swedish (very cold -22) Arctic skiing Northland.

Very much touched and encouraged to see the debate. TY :)

I feel strongly about this one. The basics have to be right, or else we are playing shoot-em-ups. I hope they get it.

Really.

Re: Whats next?

Ben has been doing something extra special here. Really! He is the real star and has put hundreds of hours (on top of family commitments) to this.

No one will ever recreate the BoB as we have here. No idle boast/.

Re: Is there a WORKING link to download BOF!!!

Hi Mike, Sorry about the delayed comment.

The link should work just fine (I just checked it).

I hope the alternate link works for you.

Whirlybird did a super job with this mod.

Please let us know.

regards

Re: Rowan BOB still king for me

Rowan died because the scale of recreating the Battle of Britain is daunting. No one will do the same again.

It has taken 8 years to take the Rowan gem to where it is today.

Visuals improve with time. Historical recreation is only somewhat linked to them, but not entirely...

Re: Just found out about this great looking sim.

Sorry about the delayed comment. Welcome power5.

This isn't just a good looking sim. It's the most historically accurate for this period that will ever be made.

It's a time machine to 1940, plain and simple.

Re: Rear Gunners Ruining My Day

Sorry about the delayed comment. I'd personally not set Do_You_Want_Increase_Firing_Rate_Of_Hand_Held_Gunners=OFF as I have found the ON setting to be challenging.

But it's a personal choice.

Re: Hurricane or Spitfire?

Tough work for the old work horse! But not so tough. Performance was close enough that other factors have a larger effect; for example height, surprise, pilot skill and morale, all of which really play out in BoBII. You don't have to fear 109s if you are good in a Hurricane. You just have to pick y...

Re: Smithy's BoBII "Combat Report" thread

Welcome Smithy, you have a similar passion to many of us here. Great to hear of your family background. Take your time. BoBII (I hope that you can run it in its latest version, 2.11) is a very advanced piece of software and has a learning curve. Treat your kite badly and you'll not do well. Some of ...

Re: Large scale .PDF Campaign Map available ?

Welcome old chap. Key guides are in the FAQ section http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=8331 As for a pdf of the campaign map, I am not so sure. You can certainly buy period RAF flying maps from the A2A store. They are lovely. If you look at page 242 of the manual (in your d...

Re: Hurricane or Spitfire?

Welcome KiwiSmithy. The Hurricane is, and was, easier to fly and a more stable gun platform. In game it's easier to land and generally more forgiving. An expert pilot will get more from the Spit but then most had no choice and some of us these days have our preferences and are also mediocre pilots, ...
