Re: How do you play as a german pilot in a campaing

I fear that it's an age thing, gents.

Or is the world just more complicated now?

...........afterall, now that we have steam engines, we can travel faster than a horse!

Re: 109 climb/roll issue

Hello two27. Congrats on the RAF campaign. There are some big differences between the aircraft. I would say that the 109 is harder to fly, but primarily because of a lack of pilot-adjustable rudder trim and tougher landing margins. If you have enabled maximum settings you will find considerable roll...

Re: Hurricane Flap Settings

Yes, it's being outnumbered that's the real issue. Makes you think about those young men, doesn't it. They had no reload button. Hurricane flaps were not used in combat, no. Whilst they do have different settings, you'd be an idiot to shed the energy. In-game you break them over 160 mph as I recall ...

Re: BoBII Freezes my PC

So it runs ok with onboard sound?

Perhaps that's the clue here. It's definitely system specific. We just need to find the clue to narrow it down..

Re: MultiSkin, significant performance drop when enabled

I am rather late here, but perhaps this could help. There is bound to be some hit with hundreds of individual skins. Generally you don't have hundreds in the same frame, of course.. You can selectively disable Multiskin for each aircraft type if you wish. so you could keep the fighters and remove se...

Welcome Fjell. Once you have downloaded it, do make sure you add the free 2.11 update or you will be way behind the latest version.

Re: Completed Campaign

Bloody well done, Fish40! Really. The Hurricane is the historian's weapon here. She won the Battle of Britain, numerically and tactically. For what's it's worth, here is my tally from the campaign we ran on the 70th anniversary. It ran with startlingly real results. READ HERE-> http://simhq.com/foru...

Re: IL2 COD my first impressions

That's a great summary, thank you rhinomonkey. There is no doubt that graphics move on. I wonder about the AI. Buddye and Rowan gave us something that is world class. It's just *the* most unpredictable and best there is. How many hundreds of people have posted on this. I am no laggard. Let's hope th...

Re: New to BoBII – My Thoughts So Far

Sprog, lovely avatar! I have it, in large boldness 3'x5' in my (kids) playroom. Doesn't bloody work, of course, they are hyperactive still, but it keeps me calm, personally. I think it's the Royal crown that does it for me. It is important. Fascinating that the poster was never actually issued and w...

Welcome Northern.

There is so much in the campaign game here that we have not unbottled, really.

Were you watching events in 2D/3D? The 3D/2D transition does throw up issues.

Re: New to BoBII – My Thoughts So Far

Hello Sprog, and a warm welcome to our community. The essence of BoBII is the AI and the huge huge battles. The geniuses here (Rowan, a British sim developer) left us with a gem. Buddye has done a super job of polishing the gem afterwards and we all have a huge thanks to him for doing that. His AI r...

I love 1000 piece jigsaws. I find them therapeutic. Have just completed a couple of excellent Geoff Nutkins ones. I'll look for this one, Marine, thanks!
