I have no idea if the d key works as I use the mouse wheel to turn the knob on the panel. This is not a defect and it is realistic. You are making the adjustment regularly, correct?
I am not sure what could be wrong with your braking, are you testing in a scenario with a crosswind?

Re: quick questions
I would check the calibration of your controls for the braking issue. The Heading Indicator is not slaved to a magnetic compass. It will need to be manually aligned to match with the magnetic compass before taxi, before run up, before takeoff and then every 15 minutes while in level flight at a cons...

Re: Static Discharge Wicks
IRL The only static wicks I have ever noticed move are the ones on the elevator which will wiggle around noticeably at lower airspeeds.
I'll have to look at the ones on the ailerons sometimes to see if they ever move at all. Maybe in a stall...

Re: Everel One Bladed Prop On J-2 Cub
Pretty cool stuff. I heard from a guy that flew one that it was a pretty good design and there was definitely improved climb and cruise performance. He said that the parts wore out quickly and it was difficult to keep the tension in adjustment. It required all sorts of shims and periodic adjustment ...

Re: without engine
The brakes in the 172 are not power brakes. The engine provides no assistance. Even in a car with power brakes, they would work but with much less effectiveness. With the engine out, you can generally expect to descend at 800 feet per minute. How much distance you cover depends on the winds and your...

Some tips on use of the autopilot
This is all covered more or less beginning on page 83 in the KAP 140 manual linked in the sticky topic in the C172 Trainer forum. For those who find that material confusing or choose not to read through it... These are some tips I can offer on the use of the KAP 140 autopilot. Hopefully this will he...

Re: My C172 is "dead"
Maybe you left the master switch on when you shutdown. That will drain the battery pretty quickly.

Re: Auto Pilot
Beeper, I set the VOR and all other frequencies exactly the same way as I set it on the default aircraft in FSX. All you need to do is hover over the appropriate clickspot and turn the mouse wheel. If your trim is moving all the way up with the AP turned on that means that something is wrong with yo...

Re: My C172 is "dead"
Are you doing a preflight of the aircraft or just jumping in and going for a flight? If you are doing a preflight, I'm wondering if you are not seeing any symptoms of a weak battery. I haven't had one yet.

Re: My C172 is "dead"
Is the battery dead?
We need a little more detail. Is the prop turning at all? Does the engine not fire? Etc.

Re: Some recommendations to make it even better
I learned to fly in a 172SP and didn't question why I had to sump 13 different points in all on the tanks and belly of the aircraft. When I checked out in a 172N, there are only 2 points and a flush valve. I asked the instructor about the big difference in sump points and he responded with, "On...

Re: Autopilot Problems
vcharlie, I did a test where I could only recreate this behavior by turning up my traffic and graphics settings a lot. Lonewulf47 also posted a very good point that anyone running their elevator trim on an axis, as I do, runs the risk of interfering with the AP from signal spikes. Can you compare yo...
