When one is learning to fly prop driven aircraft the instructor will frequently announce, "more right rudder!". That is until one is proficient.

Re: Bonanza V Tail
A2A Simulations aircraft have persistent wear and damage states and also have custom control mappings that differ by the complexity of the aircraft. These control mappings can be managed using their utilities provided with the aircraft. It is perfectly reasonable for one of the aircraft to be suffer...

Re: Is this correct behavior of the attitude ball
As noted, the type of plane, the airspeed, power, attitude and magnitude of control inputs all play a part. If you gently roll into and out of a turn, you will experience very little adverse yaw vs doing so with greater inputs. There is an exercise I like to do with aircraft I am unfamiliar with or ...

Re: Second Crash.
Terrible news> :( It's been a rough year for aviation. It seems like nearly everyday there is something on my feed. An instructor I knew was killed in a recent crash on 11/11. This was the one that killed the guy that flew to space with Shatner. I saw him almost every time I went flying at my airpor...

Re: GTN 750 and P3D5.2
The simulator acts as if all GPS units are WAAS equipped. The units are presenting the approaches that require WAAS on all GPS units. On the non-WAAS units you would need to perform a RAIM check to ensure that there will be sufficient satellite coverage during the timeframe that you intend to fly th...

Re: long range flight: most economic power settings?
I should add, things like maintaining proper operating temps are important. So if you find that the low power settings result in temps, oil pressure, etc. dropping off too much it may not be healthy for the engine and it may be necessary to push a little harder and trade away some efficiency. Not su...

Re: long range flight: most economic power settings?
In theory, cruising at something close to your best gliding speed of around 90mph inidcated is going to give you the most economic fuel burn and longest time in the air. The reason for this is that drag as near a minimum level. Power settings would be lowest continuous RPM for cruising, MAP set to h...

Re: GTN 750 and P3D5.2
You would set up and fly the approach just as with a ground based navigation aid. Very generally speaking: Verify and brief the approach plate On the 750 Load the approach Verify the correct approach and waypoints are loaded Activate the approach Fly the approach If it is a non-precision approach, t...

Re: J3 Cub won't Bounce
I would echo the feedback. I'm assuming that this is a simulation engine limitation with the way it handles the mass and inertia of the airframe, and moments around pivot points. I'm not sure that FSX does this at all. Same for the compression and dampening effects of the landing gear. I have never ...

Re: GTN 750 and P3D5.2
If the approach is activated, and You are flying the published approach, then The 750 should automatically make the LOC the active frequency and change the CDI to VLOC upon intercepting the LOC. Again the other two conditions need to be satisfied first. The autopilot may still need to be manually ar...

Re: C182 ELT Remote Switch
I have never tried clicking on it and I don't believe it is modeled. ELT stands for Emergency Locator Transmitter This remote switch allows the pilot or a maintenance facility to turn on the transmitter manually. Normally the unit is armed to turn itself on if a certain amount of G force is detected...

Re: C182 magnetos check
The engine should also be warmed up with cht and oil temp at least in the bottom of rhe green arc. You may also have an issue with the engine, a bad magneto could cause ignition issues. Also the assumption that a fresh install provides a "brand new" aircraft is incorrect. When you first in...

Re: GNS400 Functionality
The default GNS400 does not support this. To create a flight plan it must be done within the flight planning function of the simulator. I cannot comment about aftermarket add-ons as I have no experience with them.

Thought the A2A sim community would appreciate this RW preflight issue
On my last flight, the landing to be specific, I noticed that the steering seemed a bit "off". I figured it was just the stronger than usual crosswind because everything was fine taxiing back to the hangar. This weekend I went to do some flying and did my usual preflight inspections and di...
