Re: 2020 AirVenture Oshkosh is "un-cancelled", for us simmers!
Only one week to go! I've been testing for a few hours today, with the real controllers from Oshkosh AirVenture . They will be do the controlling during the event, so this will be as real as it gets. Glorious fun! "Cleared to land on the Orange Dot." https://i.imgur.com/YDAweZx.jpg "F...

Re: Aerostar Checkout - success
Now it looks like tomorrow (Thursday) is the day the left engine will be started. We've been waiting on two parts to arrive. I'll bring some go pros to capture this very first startup. Can't wait to fly this again. Scott. Don't forget a good microphone. Not to hear you speak, but to hear the Aerost...

Re: 2020 AirVenture Oshkosh is "un-cancelled", for us simmers!
Will the war bird arrival also be simulated? or just the GA route in. Ian This year they are doing the Fisk-arrival only. So basically a GA-prop event. If this is to be a major success (which I think it will be), they are toying with including the War Bird Island arrival as well. (and IFR!) BTW: It...

I’d say it is good for all that are comfortable with online flying, an even those who want to try.
Hint: no talking on the radio required. Only listening for approach and landing instructions.
Being able to fly the aircraft proficiently is needed, though.

Re: Simulate Aux Wing Fuel Tanks
Hi Michael, Good question but we don't simulate these aux tanks in the wing. The Comanche 400 has both aux tanks in the wing and tip tanks and WHEN we make the 400 we will certainly simulate this. But for the 250, it's not in the cards. Scott Fixed that for you, Scott. Interesting to hear that the ...

Re: Laminar flow VS turbulent flow. NERD ALERT! :D
Absolutely fascinating. Two additional things this video shows: 1. What clouds really look like. 2. What lightning really looks like. Does anyone know what that blue planet surface is? It was shown in the video right after images of Jupiter, but Jupiter isn't that color. Jupiter with a color filter...

Laminar flow VS turbulent flow. NERD ALERT! :D
One of my favorite YouTube channels, Veritasium, has recently published this awesome video about turbulent flow.
Apart from being utterly fascinating, it is highly relevant for aviation geeks.

Holy foxtrot! This is great news! I'm so glad you haven't forgotten about this lovely bird! Thanks a billion!Nick - A2A wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 09:27 Beautiful screenshot Jan Kees. Sorry for the silence from our end guys, but you should be able to fly the Accu-Sim B-17 in P3Dv5 (and v4) quite soon.
Thanks,
Nick

2020 AirVenture Oshkosh is "un-cancelled", for us simmers!
I have been pregnant with this information for many weeks now, being a small part of the team of test pilots - finally, PilotEdge is making it official: From July 21st to 25th PilotEdge will in collaboration with EAA and NATCA arrange "SimVenture", an online fly-in to Oshkosh simulating th...

Transcript of the video: "So, I'm on my way to get my Aerostar checkout for insurance purposes - the insurance companies requires training to happen. It's legal to fly it, but you have to fly it without insurance, which is actually legal, but I don't wanna fly without insurance. But anyway, whe...

Re: Aerostar (no news)
Something many don't know about the Aerostar is, you really can't ever pull high g's in a turn (not that one would want too but...). Unless you are in a dive going 200kts, the wings just can't bite enough air. It just breaks through and stalls. It's the complete opposite of the Comanche 250, which ...

Great news! Godspeed on the inspection flight!
And remember to have a binary takeoff point - 80 kts by "taxiway X" and we're go, 79 and we're aborting.
