Re: New system freezing
Ja Oskar I agree again... I am heavily suspecting the graphics card and I plan on running stress tests. I have a Spire Gemini CPU cooler, so I'm hoping that it's not a cooling problem there. I'm hoping in the video card utility they allow me to reduce the GPU speed back to something more stable. It ...

Re: New system freezing
Ja, Oskar... you're right, it is overclocked. Hopefully I can de-clock it back down to stock GPU speed. I'll do that over the weekend and get back to you.
And another odd thing it does is it rarely saves my control assignments. I'd like to be able to brake properly

Re: New system freezing
Well, friends... I did a fresh install to g:/fsx tonight, installing both FSX and Accel as Administrator. Flew default 737 unmarked... got to 25,000ish feet, freeze-ville. Tried the Spitfire.... no joy either. No tweaks employed. The part that puzzles me is how you can manage to go "Not Respond...

Re: A2A Warbirds In Development (09/12/2011)
Say, in watching the video a second time, I noticed while the Mustang was taxiing that the auxiliary 85-gallon fuel tank's indicator kept moving up and down when the plane would start and stop.
Modelling fuel sloshing back and forth from starts and stops while taxiing? That's HIGHLY impressive!

Re: A2A and Russian aircraft
I personally am all for an aircraft from that country... Another sim company a few years back did a stellar Yak-3, and before that, a MiG-21UM Mongol B trainer variant. I loved those planes so. The advantage A2A would have in modeling those is that even in the MiG-21, the technology and systems are ...

Re: New system freezing
Good advice, mate -
I hadn't run any of my installs (FSX, Accel) as Administrator. Only tweaks I made were TextureBandwidthMultiplier=400, and also MaxTextureLoad=4096.
All drivers are up to date.
Should I repair FSX as Administrator and also Acceleration? What procedure do you recommend?

New system freezing
Hello all, Finally got the new computer up and running and a fresh install of Acceleration on there. Framerates are spectacular! But a new problem has reared its ugly head, and seems to occur at higher altitudes. I took my Spit Mk II up to test it since it's a rocketship of a climber, and got up to ...

I am a BIG fan of Polska. My fiancee' is Polish, and lemme tell you folks, those folks know how to EAT. If you ever go to a Polish deli, try the kabanos sausage - you'll thank me. It's absolutely magic. And nothing's better in cold weather than sauerkraut and sausage, or bigos stew. *pats midsection...

Re: New sound card
I've been searching all over and I can't seem to decide between a 6-core at 3.3 GHz or a quad-core at 3.8 GHz. I know FSX is heavily, heavily CPU dependent, and that SP1 & 2 included multi-core enabling... but do the number of cores matter less than the speed-per-core? Sort of like how they didn...

Re: New sound card
Since you mentioned your Video Card choice as well: I would be cautious about the dual GTX 460 (EVGA GTX 460 2Win???). If I'm not mistaken, you are basically running two 460's in SLI. Unless you are running multiple screens with high anti-aliasing, it is unlikely you will see much benefit from that...
