Re: Canyon Run - a nice route recommendation

Good trip, nicely documented. I have thought about doing a Columbia River run before, but never gotten around to it. Maybe the Comanche will finally inspire me. Mine is currently sitting at Grand Canyon, hoping to break some flight rules and drop down into the canyons tomorrow.

Re: Finished Repaints

same scheme as before, but different colors and registration. Any takers? Oh yes please. I love these older paints, and the off-white contrasting against the classic green is really superb on this Comanche. I've just nabbed the registration on FSE so this will become my own personal Comanche (virtu...

Re: Different Avionics Stack

That is a mistake, with the comanche, you get the Narco radio stack... Yes, the guys at A2A may be streets ahead of any other GA developer so far as their aircraft development is concerned, but when it comes to cutting and pasting from their previous manual, there are numerous errors and confusions...

... give the knob a goodly push ... Excellent! I knew someone would have the scientifically tested method for my dilemna  But seriously, this is more or less what I'm doing, so thanks for the confirmation that there's not much more to be done other than trying to lean for cruise at pattern al...

Re: Closed Traffic in the Comanche

... and keep in mind: pitch for airspeed, power for descent rate. If you find yourself fast on final, pull the nose up, simultaneously cut power to allow the aircraft to continue to descend, and trim out the control forces so that your airspeed is fixed. But I'm an amateur, so I'll allow the profess...

Leaning for landing at high altitude

I'm fairly comfortable with the whole idea of leaning generally, and thanks to 3 previous A2A GA offerings I've learned a lot more. But I've just landed the Comanche (wow, what a beauty, and a smoooooooth flyer beyond all expectations) at Grand Canyon KGCN which is at an altitude of 6609 feet. I did...

Re: Request for an EGT Reference needle in the Comanche

I'm inclined to keep the needle as it is... Scott. I'm inclined to agree with you Scott. Much as the needle is useful and what I'm used to having, I love that the Comanche doesn't have one and therefore throws up as slightly different challenge. It makes this aircraft unique, personal, and, let's f...

Re: Take Off Question

By the by, in any non-turbocharged engine, always keep your rpm's at or above the MP value. In other words, if you are at 24" MP, don't bring the prop back below 2400 RPM. If you are at 21" MP, don't bring the rpm's below 2100. That's so you aren't putting too much pressure on the cylinde...

Re: first flight in the comanche

Yes, I have to echo these sentiments - this is the new benchmark for FSX sims! The stall characteristics are pure perfection (not that I've ever stalled a Comanche in real life lol) with that audible and visible buffeting. LOVE IT ALREADY!!!
Now all we have to do is get it sorted out in FSE

Thanks Lewis for the confirmation. And hopefully next time I have the problem I'll remember the solution. Its good to have the Cub back for some simply hedge-hopping

Re: Re-installed Cub, then CTD ... again.

I've just completed a little hop around Walter Sutton's Farm and everything seems well ... except that SoundStream is disabled. However, I can live without it with the Cub I guess as I don't generally have half-a-dozen other programs running at the same time lol. Still wondering if anyone has a solu...

Re: Re-installed Cub, then CTD ... again.

Thanks again Chris.

Disabling Soundstream seems to have worked this time. So the question is: is there a solution for running Soundstream alongside the A2A Cub?

Re: Re-installed Cub, then CTD ... again.

I see you had a conflict with soundstream and the cub before. Is that still a problem? Do not select a saved flight for the cub that was made before you uninstalled it last time. Try uninstalling the Cubs *.dat files as you did last time. Cheers Chris Thanks Chris, I had forgotten about that conflic...
