Re: two oil questions

So if I fill up the oil in the shift-4-menu do the old and the new oil mix? After 5 hours of conservative flying (only patterns to get used to her) I've used up about 1/6 to 1/5 of the oil in the tank. Let's say I refill her every 10 hours or so and that mixes the oil volumes I don't need to change ...

Re: two oil questions

And another thing: To do an oil change do I have to enter the hangar and use the oil option menu in the engine section. Or does a click in the shift-4-menu also change the oil (or does it only refill and mix it)?

Thanks!

Re: two oil questions

Thanks for your fast response, Scott. But for doing some routine stuff (e.g. filters) I think I should use it in schedule. The question is what is a good intervall for doing it in the sim. To often is unrealistic and to seldom is irresponsible concerning the filter have to be changed every 25 hours ...

Re: two oil questions

Any advice how often to visit the maintenance hangar for regular inspection? The Accus Sim GAs have 25 hours, the warbirds 30 hour for changing filters and so on.

Don't want to enter the hangar to often for realism reasons.

Re: landing light retraction logic

Indeed it's an absolutely (fantastically simulated) airplane!

No, it doesn't have to do with the engine sounds. The sound just isn't there when I use CTRL+L. All other switches have their sounds.

adding autopilot

Hey guys, there're attempts to add an autopilot and some nav radios to the P-40 (see here: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=32778). That broad me to the idea I could also add an sextant and maybe the famous weather ship gauge. I know that's a bit exaggerated but why not. My ques...

Re: landing light retraction logic

Yes, I did so and it works. But there's no switching sound any more. Doesn't matter so far!

Re: P-40 'Civilianized' Mods

And could somebody post a screenshot of the autopilot panel? The original link seems to be broken.

primer only starts/draining fuel lines before shutdown

Hey guys, I have two questions concerning the fuel system of the Comanche: 1. Primer only starts are possible and solicited with the Comanche but are they actually performed for any reason? The procedures say to start with mixture full rich. 2. For some types it's recommended to close the fuel cocks...

Re: low res textures and performance

Thanks, Lewis.

Yes I tried that alternative textures a while ago but as I remember the Bonanza was running slow anyway. Maybe it's just my no-gaming rig...

Re: rpm fluctuations

:D :D :D

Coming up with an older question: Why are the ASI and the VSI so steady with the P-40 even when the other gauges vibrate like crazy?

low res textures and performance

Hey guys, I have a quite modest PC system but the most A2A aircraft run quite smooth - except the Bonanza. That makes be wonder because the Comanche on the other hand is the smoothest running. The last days I played around with the texture files of my civ P-51 and found out when using DXT5 textures ...
