deicer pressure gauge without function?

Hey guys, does the deicer pressure gauge have any function? As far as I understand it shows the pressure available to hold the wing boots tight and with wing de-ice activated the pressure shown should fall. But I can't see any reaction here at all - it only shows a static pressure 1.4 if engines are...

Re: Cabin Superchargers Inlet Switches Operation

No, I don't think number 1 and 4 do have anything to do with the AC exclusively. That's stated in the A2A manual and was intended so originally. But in the sim in fact the AC is driven only by eletricity and therefore you need all four generators running for the AC to work. Maybe number 1 and 4 do d...

Re: Cabin Superchargers Inlet Switches Operation

Hello Roger and thank you for your very interesting input. Yes, I always handle the pressurization myself for achieving optimum passenger comfort. ;) Concerning your observation with the rising temperatures on approach: Are you sure this does not have to do with the need to switch from heating to co...

Re: Cabin Superchargers Inlet Switches Operation

Hey guys, it seems to me the supercharger inlet switches don't have a simulated function at all. I pulled out the Connie after some absence for doing some rtw and this morning I performend an excessive line of ground checks (not taking her to the air yet). I noticed with idling engines the air flow ...

Re: getting sunrise and sunset times fronm FSX

@ Esa: I often read about the inaccuracy of the FSX SR and SS but never checked it out by the numbers. I'll have an eye on that and report back. Would be very usefull if one could use the rw SR/SS time in FSX.

By the way: I'm using Time Zone Fixer for FSX.

Re: flight planning: wind, flight level, route , fuel, time optimum

By the way: I think the weather and winds aloft forecast of the 40's and 50's must have been much (!) weaker than today. A relatively thin network of balloon sondes, especially over oceans. Maybe the main source were reports from other aircraft which calculated winds aloft "on the run" and in a tigh...

Re: flight planning: wind, flight level, route , fuel, time optimum

Thanks for your fast responses. @ Paughco: Yes, I alway use skyvector for flight planning and know the wind options. There I get my wind data mentioned above from. But as far as I understand skyvector has only the aircraft performance for one given cruise profile (in my case for FL240) and does use ...

Re: getting sunrise and sunset times fronm FSX

Thanks for your fast replies.

But I don't need the rw times but the (quite unrealistic) FSX SR and SS times. They're there and the question is if there's a FSX file to get the info from or an external software to read out the corresponding files.

getting sunrise and sunset times fronm FSX

Hey guys,

any idea how to read out the sunrise and sunset times for a given location and day in FSX?

Thanks in advance,

flight planning: wind, flight level, route , fuel, time optimum

Hey guys, I know one could calculate the best flight level or best (alternate) route with given winds aloft, gross weights, performance data and maybe step climb calculations. But in the 40s and 50s did they really calculate that things down to the last numbers or where there some rules of thumb to ...

Re: Do pax on board trigger career mode?

Hi and thanks for your fast reply. So did I get that right: If I shut off the career mode via shift-3 my career is on standby and does continue when I switch it back on later with the exact same state? But are then occasional failures to the technical systems still active if career mode's off? Are t...

Do pax on board trigger career mode?

Hey guys, I decided to pull out the wonderfull Connie for a new and longlasting career. ;) I have one question: When I want to do some system ground tests and maybe some training or ferry flights without passengers (eventually with some cargo) do they absolutely not affect my career (but the system ...
