2020 AirVenture Oshkosh is "un-cancelled", for us simmers!

I have been pregnant with this information for many weeks now, being a small part of the team of test pilots - finally, PilotEdge is making it official: From July 21st to 25th PilotEdge will in collaboration with EAA and NATCA arrange "SimVenture", an online fly-in to Oshkosh simulating the famous F...

Re: Aerostar Checkout - success

Transcript of the video: "So, I'm on my way to get my Aerostar checkout for insurance purposes - the insurance companies requires training to happen. It's legal to fly it, but you have to fly it without insurance, which is actually legal, but I don't wanna fly without insurance. But anyway, when I w...

Re: Aerostar (no news)

Something many don't know about the Aerostar is, you really can't ever pull high g's in a turn (not that one would want too but...). Unless you are in a dive going 200kts, the wings just can't bite enough air. It just breaks through and stalls. It's the complete opposite of the Comanche 250, which ...

Re: Aerostar (no news)

Great news! Godspeed on the inspection flight!

And remember to have a binary takeoff point - 80 kts by "taxiway X" and we're go, 79 and we're aborting.

Re: Aerostar (no news)

One know the Aerostar is highly anticipated when you see a post with "No news" in it, and fully knowing that this is most likely true, one opens it anyway. :-P

Re: Just one lovely picture of the Bonanza...

Actually by the end of FSX and P3Dv4 I didn't do any tweaking at all, just settings options set and away I went. Was nice and enjoyable to spend more time flying than in notepad    cheers, Lewis Here's the trick to increase the ratio of flying / tweaking. Let the tweaking...

Re: Did it

There's a pretty large sweet spot for adjusting mixture for maximum power (not max fuel economy). It's pretty hard to miss with most carbureted engines. Just pull the mixture back slowly until the engine starts to struggle, then add mixture until it's smooth. you want to squeeze out maybe 1-2 more ...

Re: Just one lovely picture of the Bonanza...

Very cool indeed, like others whilst somewhat of a frustrating start, v5 is slowly growing on me as a simmer. I would still at this point describe it as a tweakers sim. A lot is still in beta and is a bit rough around the edges but its getting there. And on the topic of eye candy alone, its hard to...

Re: Just one lovely picture of the Bonanza...

Yeah, I had some GPU-memory problems in the beginning. I’ve never been as plagued with problems in the beginning as with v5, but it’s stable and beautiful now. I was also hesitant because of the lack of support by Active Sky and other addons. I’m in Beta for Active Sky now, and that’s all I need. No...

Just one lovely picture of the Bonanza...

I just couldn't resist. The cockpit of the Bonanza is so lovely... And P3D v5 is starting to look like perfection.

Great vid, I've always wanted to do this. Nice to see the pressures on the doors.

Re: New computer

I've so far been unable to get the team to agree to do the 400. However this could change once the real one is all fixed up and flying. Scott. Who are these people in the team? What do they know that you and us other 400-lovers don't know? Have they heard that wonderful sound of the engine? (of cou...

Re: NASA SpaceX Falcon 9 launch replay

Not sure if this is accurate but was told by a reliable source that the US was paying Russia $180 mil to get two astronauts to the ISS, this time it was $60 mil. Scott Even if it were the same price it's more efficient to do it at Kennedy. I listened to "Houston we have a Podcast", where they had a...
