Re: A2A Aircraft Ideas

I second this! I love the sound and look of the Dehavilland Beaver - especially the instrument panel! Would love it on floats - but why not give it the "Cub-treatment" and have it with regular tyres, tundras, skis and floats? Maybe even one with floats and retractable landing gear? I "grew up" with ...

No indeed:

Have a listen to what Scott has to say about the physics of the propeller:

Re: Real World question on Engine Runup

Well, not quite a "Dolly". There are lots of different variants of 2CVs. Mine was originally am all-white "Special", but was renovated and painted in burgundy with black fenders and boot (the "Charleston"-colors). But it lacks the pattern on the doors of a "Charleston" and is thus a sort of a bastar...

Re: Real World question on Engine Runup

Regarding the last post and cars I have noticed that after starting to fly the A2A-planes I let my car warm up more before driving (or at least pushing it hard). I drive a Citroën 2cv, so its 602cc 2-cyl engine does probably not take much to get the oil flowing, but I listen more carefully to it ...

Re: instead of a bug report...

That's the thing with a good simulator, it simulates real life. And usually we don't send bug reports in real life (unless you're an entomologist). If there is an issue it is usually something I did wrong (or too little too late), so with the A2A-aircraft I usually think first what the issue could b...

Re: No ATC communications

I've had my radio "die" during warmup due to low charge on the battery. It comes back if I use a GPU or whenever I have sufficiently low oil-pressure to increase RPM to 1500ish to have proper charging of the battery.

Re: The accusim-download and the patch/core-update

Indeed, he is. I have now read his tutorials, and it helped me gain knowledge on not only what to do, but why it needs to be done. I shall print them and include them with the A2A manuals. Regarding stalls - I have realised that I haven't done much proper practicing on them. This wild plane inspires...

Re: The accusim-download and the patch/core-update

Good to know. I have just had a quick look at her, and amazingly beautiful is the word! You are indeed right, Mazo, she surprised me very much on take off. I was all over the place. When I eventually got her in the air I very quikly sumbled into an accelerated stall, and my skills were not up to the...

Great! Thanks! :-D

So the accusim is supposed to be only 12 mb? :-)

The accusim-download and the patch/core-update

Hi, I just bought the P-51 today (military version for now), and of course with the AccuSim. Is it correct that the AccuSim-download should be around 12mb, whereas the plane is around 140mb? The other accusim-downloads I have are ten times as big - about the same as the plane itself. This makes me t...

Immersion

It is incredibly fascinating to see the different sounds, movements, feelings and other aspects that A2A brings to the feeling in the simulator increase the immersion. All kinds of seemingly irrelevant details come together and make everything so much more real. I have a strange example that almost ...

Re: Demister switch?

I also wondered if this was left out *. You will find it on top of the instrument panel, just under the windshields - on both sides. You may have to "raise" your seat - or stretch a little if you have Track IR. :-) * With A2A-aircraft one can almost always assume the opposite - nothing is left out, ...

Re: Separate engine/airframe hours on the various paints

I guessed that I wasn't the first to have thought of this, but couldn't find anything here on the forum on it. Glad to hear that there may be a way of doing this. I will try what you described, though I'm not exactly sure what you meant. Are there any other posts here on the forum describing this? T...

Separate engine/airframe hours on the various paints

As far as I have seen the 3 Cessna models I have use the same airframe/engine hours (and the general condition). I'm wondering if it is possible to make it so that at least some of the different paints I have can be separate airplanes (as the Cub's different versions with the floats, skis and tundra...
