Re: high rpm readings

In straight & level flight? Doesn't sound right.

Re: Engine Failure on Take-Off

Yeah, there are quite a few variables, and more so with Active Sky. I'd need to try out the A2A T-6 in similar conditions to play around myself, but unfortunately I'm unable for a moment. Also recall that reducing RPM directly affects supercharger speed, and hence the manifold pressure achievable. -...

Re: Engine Failure on Take-Off

Yes, a tour to the hangar would be the second step.

Re: Engine Failure on Take-Off

Probably too lean mixture as the engine recovered during climb.

Re: Aerostar

What is the range of the Aerostar 600? Wikipedia states "Range: 1,024 mi (1,648 km, 890 nmi)" but that's for the 700P variant. Is it the same for the 600? Well, the 600 has about 165.5 gallons of usable. Avweb reports some 210 knots with 34 gallons per hour burn. That results in a bit under 5 hours...

Re: addon GPS

Remember that what the GPS addons based on Garmin trainers show has nothing to do with the host simulation database, be that FSX or P3D. As mentioned, they use Garmin database files which, unfortunately, are not readily sourced from anywhere but Garmin's. Having old host simulator data has no effect...

Re: How Realistic is FS2020?

One factor that has been extremely hard to replicate in a flight model has been the effect with q on control surfaces. Each aircraft will exhibit different responses to dynamic pressure and inertia due to the size of the surface and the airspeed and altitude at which the control surface is deflecte...

Re: How Realistic is FS2020?

Dudley Henriques, well i talking too critically, but i stay thinking it's not can be real, as aircraft geometry same complicated as air condition for be real simulated. i do not say simulation can not be real at all, but it stay far of real, especially when we talking about extrem situations like w...

Re: IO-520 and IO-550 fuel flow test

Their specific fuel consumption are rather similar, though in practice IO-550 should score a bit higher. If we normalize this a bit unfairly, and say that we output 200 hp from each engine, and use "minimum allowable fuel flow" for IO-520, we burn approximately 84 lbs/h. With IO-550 at peak EGT we b...

Re: upgrade

the 550 seems a fine engine in reality. I was once involved with an IO-550 STC, non on the Bonanza though, as an operator pondered whether to overhaul/replace the standard engine (some O-470), or to get an STC for a 520 or 550 while at it. After the fact, I think they chose wisely.

Re: Pitch angle with gear and flaps

The nose movement is instant and when you grab the flaps, you can rock the nose up and down using the flaps as if there is a direct connect between your arm and the nose position. This is one of my favorite characteristics of the Comanche. Manual flaps with this instant reaction. I'd love to try th...
