Re: C172 install questions

Scott..... If I read this correctly, running the DirectX Installation is Not Mandatory , correct? The reason for asking is that I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed and when I try to run the 'Optional' (included version of 'dxwebsetup.exe) I get an error flag, even though I am sure that a loca...

Shift + Number keys do not work

Suddenly, after the installation of the new 1.5.2 Accu-Sim Core Update, I cannot see Shift # drop-downs for any of my A2A aircraft, however they do work in other non -A2A aircraft (i.e. compass, fuel panels, GPS units, etc.) What is seen in lieu of the Maintenance Hangar or other C172 drop-downs is ...

Re: Plane body totally transparent from inside VC view

Had the same transparent texture problem AFTER the new 1.5.2 Accu-Sim Core Update not only on the C172 but all of my A2A aircraft . Turned 'Preview DirectX 10' [ Display / Graphics / Preview DirectX 10 ] and resolved the issue for ALL A2A aircraft. Hint, Hint, ???? Have another issue since new core ...

Re: Another Seat Adjustment Question

Thank you Gypsy Baron, and my Crew Chief said double-ditto. Changed the eyepoint to:

eyepoint=-2.73,0.0,2.5

and placed his rusty diagonal cutters back in his grody USAF green tool bag. Problem resolved, and thanks again.

Another Seat Adjustment Question

I am not sure if this is a P-51-D question or an Accu-Sim for P-51 question, but here goes: First, I am not hung up on seat problems (previous question) I love the bird, but this minor issue bugs me. When I enter the bird, on a fresh start of FSX (Virtual Cockpit), my seat is not where I left it [bl...

Re: Long Legged Fighter Pilots Not Welcome ?????

Okay, thanks Lewis. Had not noticed it with other aircraft, but will keep my head inside the bird and try it. Thanks again for clearing it up.

Long Legged Fighter Pilots Not Welcome ?????

During pre-light all checked well on the P-51 (Military) ready for a short hop from KPIT (Greater Pittsburgh) to KJST (Johnstown). At 7000 Ft, I remembered about the fuel coming from the left wing tank and reached down to make the switch. Suddenly noticed that the little 'fickled finger of fate' (mo...

Re: Accu-Feel Sound Issue with Headsets

Thank you gentlemen. Lewis, your explanation answered the basic question in that it was not FSX. Dave, you were correct. I had to change the default 'listening' device, then everything went to headsets (my wife thanks you too  ). Now, I have to add that to the post flight checklist because the ...

Accu-Feel Sound Issue with Headsets

I attempted a search on this with no results. Excuse me if it has already been presented. The issue was happening with version 1.1 and I went ahead with the upgrade to version 2 in hopes that it had been addressed. Not my lucky day, I guess. Accu-Feel sound, namely the wind, brakes and tire sounds, ...

Accu-Feel Crashing FSX w/Acc Issues

I thought that I had a handle on this, but apparently not. To start with I have FSX Gold (FSX with Acceleration package) running on Windows 7 - 64 bit Ultimate with 6GB DDR3 memory, DirectX 11, and plenty of system to run almost anything. I have completely removed and reinstalled FSX/ACC 7 times now...

Re: Continental A65 carburetion question

Oh yes.... Almost forgot about the old needle valves. That would make sense, I remember having to do that on an old Chevy, winter / summer and from lower elevations to higher mountainous elevations, now that you mention it. We had indoor plumbing (choke knob on the dash) but would still have to adju...

Re: Continental A65 carburetion question

Some J3 Cubs do have mixture knobs. I don't believe they ever came from the factory this way, though. Maybe one to many Cub owners had the same question I do. Another thing is that the J3 cub rarely flies higher than 500 - 3k feet  That's all and good in San Antonio and even Chicago,...

Re: Continental A65 carburetion question

my understanding is that the mixture on a Cub is not in flight adjustable and was factory made to have the best performance, including mixture at sea level. Thanks Cody. I know they flew them in northern climates in the winter as well as close to the equator during the summer, and probably still do...

Continental A65 carburetion question

The Continental A65 engine in the Cub quite apparently does not have a choke (mixture control), which I have no doubt, is modeled correctly. My question is: How did Continental pull this off with a normally aspirated updraft carburetor? Engines of this vintage, even at ground level (especially autom...

Re: Bob Hope!

Away from home by thousands of miles, some in combat situations, Christmas, and Bob Hope (or Danny Kay) were there, taking your mind off the problems of the day. Most of the USO Troop that came to the far east in 1961 are gone now, Bob included, but the memories will live on as long as we do. Thanks...
