OT: spitfire rebuild Y2K

So, many years ago, there was a spitfire being rebuilt at Comox airport, Vancouver Island, which I visited a few times, and threw a few bucks at. I also posted here about it, as there was always interest in spit and hurri restorations amongst the patrons here. At one point the work got stalled from ...

Re: OT: Change of Forum Logo

There's a reason for that: the original pin-up had her leaning back against the stool, but it made a very tall image
which took up too much space on the page unless it was shrunk down tiny; so some photoshopping was applied, in
order for her to stretch across the page instead of down.

New Microprose B-17 with Canadian Lanc bonus (!!!?)

I thought someone might have already posted about this. I just saw it, and haven't done any digging yet, but everything about this story amazes me. For a start, I didn't know Microprose still existed! https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/meet-the-97-year-old-second-world-war-veteran-who-s-helping-...

Re: Subscriber Modifications

And here's another good source for aerials, though unless you pay money, they are a bit low res, and you'll need to play with bright/contrast in your image viewer to pull the best detail out. https://ncap.org.uk/search?keywords=calais This initially gives you 8000+ images. If you have google earth i...

Re: Subscriber Modifications

If anybody has aerial photographs of Calaise harbour circa 1940 or knowledge of a website containing these please let me know. I want to place buildings and crane objects but can't find any images or plans on the net. Well, the best place to look for that sort of stuff is here. I believe you have a...

Re: What version is sold on the store?

Will answer here as well, for future searches: No, the webstore version is 2.06. I don't know any way to get an earlier version except on CD.

Re: Can the version from the store work on Windows 10?

The A2A webstore version is 2.06, the last version that A2A staff was involved in building.
I don't know of a way of getting an earlier version outside of a cd.

Re: LATEST UPDATE (2.13) Released

For a while, I had moderator power here, but since the new version of the forum software was put in (a year ago, was it, or two?) those extra clickable bits disappeared for me, so I seem to be back as just another member. Nothing I can do about this now. I sent Lewis a PM a year ago about this, and ...

Re: Windows 10 + patch v4.2 horizon and view issues

Hi Major: I'm afraid the horizon appearance may be a feature of the old v2.1 that the win10 patch is based on, though I'm not certain. But the stretching in external view may be easily adjusted. Basically, BoB2 has two ways of adjusting the external view: it can control the distance from the aircraf...

Yes, it quietly disappeared around 2016, along with the host. Enquiries yielded no response. Rather unfortunate as
it could have been preserved if previous notice had been provided. And it never got collected by the Wayback Machine.

Re: Windows 10 Solution for the CTD issue for BOB2WOV

The not being able to save campaigns is the main problem with v2.13 in win10, for those who are able to run 2.13 in win10 at all, which is, as I said, seemingly randomly based on what hardware you are trying to run. None of this was in reference to your mod in win10, as I don't have win10 (or win8),...

Re: Windows 10 Solution for the CTD issue for BOB2WOV

You see that user who posted immediately above your post - Felizpe? He's the author of the patch. details here: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=68917 Unfortunately, for now, this gets you a working BoB2 on win10, with most of the BDG graphic improvements, but without any of the...

Re: Subscriber Modifications

As I recall you've got Beta Forum access, you can browse the discussions there; as you might imagine, we really wanted to be able to expand that, but we had no one with the skills to completely tear up and redo the rendering system. Also, my terrain modding tutorial outlines the system, and where th...
