i'm sorry to here that were you a ww 2 veteran? Sorry I didn't see this until now, Max. Yes, I enlisted in 1942, and actually was in for several wars, for I retired medically in 1965. I was a navigator/bombardier in WWII in B29's. After that war and before the Korean one I became a pilot, and...

He was right to do so. It could have been needed.

Major if you want any of them just let me know because I could easily download them and burn them to a DVD or multiple CD's and mail them to you. I greatly appreciate your offer, JJB, but I was one of the ten bombardiers selected to participate in the Crossroads Project. To avoid confusion about wh...

Those are great references about the whole B29 line! Thanks! I found this passage particularly interesting, because I was on one of the crews who were slated to fly the "one way combat" missions if the cold War heated up during 1946-'48. "The B-29 was SAC’s first Cold War aircr...

I flew in '29's until December of '52, and had a few hours in th B50.

I never heard of the '29D 'til now.

Very interesting! How many did they build? Did they ever fly the "D" operationally or was it used only by Boeing as a test bed and demo?l

Re: B 29 nose wheel : steerable or not ?

Looking at this photo of the nose wheel of « FIFI », it definitely looks to be steerable http://www.b29superfortress.com/gallery/show.php?start=0&id=19 Therefore I wonder why taxiing of my...

It looks very promising. The detail should be improved though. It should look exactly picture perfect inside a B-17 bomber. It is said that whoever can turn FSX into a combat flight simulator will have enormous bragging rights, gain unlimited amounts of cash, fame and would become THE flight sim GOD.I...
