Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

Not only have I hung in with A2A planes - and this one specifically - I have purchased another one since this posting, the T-6. I immensely enjoy these planes. I use X-Plane as well, but I often come back to use P3D and A2A planes because they are so much fun to fly. Just this evening I took the Spi...

Re: Behavior after prop strike

Thank you, Scott. Hopefully you see what I’m talking about and it isn’t just something to do with my system or hardware. Yes! It would be a huge step forward to have control over the state of the plane when the plane noses over without having to use slew mode. One other thing to consi...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

So, for example, today I start up the Spitfire again - haven't used it for a bit. The throttle was a bit too high from the last flight so it started running off down the runway - quite slowly, though. Set the throttle to idle and applied the brakes. Nope. Nose over, repeated smashing of the prop onl...

Re: Spitfire jumps forward on engine startup on P3Dv4.3

I pointed out this EXACT issue a month and a half ago. In fact, you responded to it and agreed that it is a problem. Why has it taken so long to be acknowledged as a BUG and NOT operator error? This is the one single issue that has prevented me from truly enjoying this plane. For the moment, I have...

Re: Spitfire jumps forward on engine startup on P3Dv4.3

Hi all, I'm having a frequent issue with the Spitfire in P3Dv4.3, and it's becoming quite annoying. When I start the engine, the plane wants to move forward as if it were at full power. If my parking brakes or chocks are set, the plane will nose down and break its prop (and other engine parts). I w...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

Might I ask WHY the sim would retain the state that the airplane was in before it was shut down (even if it was flying at full throttle at FL 100 at shutdown) when the scenario has been reset and the aircraft is now sitting on the runway? This is clearly an aircraft reset... X-Plane handles this co...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

Hello fortunjj, Today I've made a few flights in the Spit, and the only way I can reproduce the behaviour you're describing is by exiting the sim when the engine is running at high power. Because of the persistent nature of the aircraft modelling, that means the aircraft will next load with the sam...

Re: Aircraft engine problems

Hi fortunjj, As Alan says, please can you provide a bit more info about your simulator setup to help us provide technical support. I believe we're talking about P3Dv4 here, but do you have other add-ons and utilities running too? Typically it's conflicts with other software which can cause issues, ...

Aircraft engine problems

This evening, while trying a quick flight, the aircraft would develop no power on takeoff. Shutting off the engine was useless. The engine would not stop at all. It just ran on endlessly with the aircraft essentially cold and dark. Clearly it was in a buggy state somehow. Something ended up being co...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

@Jacques: Yep, pretty much just a convenience thing - if one is trying to practice takeoffs, for example, there is no need for a C&D start. Sometimes, one just wants to fly, without the hassle of a cold start.

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

@Jacques: Fair enough. I would then argue that the option to start this aircraft in a running state via shift 3 should be removed. If you leave the option in and it doesn't work properly, it is a bug. If you remove it, a feature of the aircraft is that it must be started C&D. The first is the de...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

As a very happy A2A customer owning all their products there is nothing wrong with any of them. Well, the changelogs say otherwise... These are generally great products - but this aircraft seems to be difficult to initialize properly when not starting it C&D. For me, that is frustrating and is ...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

@Jaques: Thank you for your reply! I think you are right on the money. Anything but a cold and dark start seems to be problematic. I will try to save a scenario with these specific starting conditions to see if I can get a stable start with the engine running. I am not sure I can do it because, as y...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

There isn't much to discuss with respect to the use case that precipitates the bug of the loop that smashes the prop. Basically, you start the plane in a running state. If you don't happen to have the brakes on, it will start to roll immediately. If you put the brakes on at that point, it will tip o...

Re: Aircraft unusable - deleted

See the post from Daube above regarding the aircraft jumping forward and smashing the prop. The problem is exactly as mentioned... it is erratic. There isn't a "proper way" to avoid this. I suspect that it does have to do with the last state that the sim was left in. But that is the thing....
