Re: Question about P3Dv.5 night being too dark

Yes!

There is a flashlight feature with P3Dv5.

Simply use the \ key above the enter key to turn on your flashlight!

Re: Bruce Saunders has passed away

I think I've seen his posts a few times. Sad news. I don't mean any dis-respect but I've seen alot videos on youtube of doctors beeing taken down. And one of the things they talked about is putting covid patients on ventilators would kill them. Covid 19 patients can recover from this. But I say CAN....

Re: P3D V5

V5 runs smoother, the clouds and water look better, the terrain and airports are updated, and has a lot of potential. The drawbacks is that it's release was incredibly buggy. There was a bug where you would crash on approach at around 500' AGL, although that has reportedly been fixed. There are curr...

Re: Do you fly with only one hand on the yoke?

Where I work, once hitting V1, it's procedure to take the hand off the throttles on the takeoff. I guess it's partially to prevent people from pulling back the thrust after V1, but that's just SOP. Hands to go back to the thrust levers when needed though, like turbulence, or even step climbs. It's d...

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5

Another thing you can try is to just start your flight, in the F-35 or just some other airplane. Once you are on the ramp or runway, switch to the A2A, and it should work from there. It has for me at least.

Avionics issue with P3DV5

Image

Hi,

I am noticing this issue with the bonanza in P3DV5. V4 is not installed. If you look at the image I have provided, the Altitude Selector, DME, and ADF does not appear to be working properly with a weird display.

Any ideas?

Known issue with V5?

Re: Bonanza engine cranking issues

Hi Nick, I can confirm the issue. I was having trouble with the Bonanza starting with the default scenario with the F-35 being the starting aircraft. If I simply select the A2A Bonanza, then launch the scenario, I encounter this issue. This is remedied when I switch to the A2A Bonanza AFTER I load a...

Re: Xplane11 looks like a sim from the 90s when Compared to FSX2020

The need for fast internet and to be online, realistically, makes it a non-starter for me. Also. I won't do the subscription dance for any software. Call me an old dinasaore if you like. I don't mind. I'll be extinct one day. I'll probably keep going with P3D. Steve. Is it really true you ne...

Re: [Updated 14 April 2020 with info for current P3Dv4 users] P3Dv5 and A2A Simulations

Nick, how did you get the Bonanza to work in V5? I've been scratching my head on this yesterday. I renamed the windshield.dll thing in an earlier post, and while I could load my Bonanza in V5 without ctd, the thing just glitches out and the prop won't even turn when I try to start the engines. Hi A...

Re: [Updated 14 April 2020 with info for current P3Dv4 users] P3Dv5 and A2A Simulations

Really needs active sky. That's what I look forward to most. I thought the TrueSky was supposed to inject realtime weather? I don't see the benefit of v5 if it doesn't. Nope, no weather engine by default in V5. For those looking for a weather engine, the freeware FSXWX seems to be working for now. ...

Re: Instrument Approach Procedure

I tend to configure pretty late until reaching the FAF, just as courtesy in case there is a jet or a turboprop following me. It's not uncommon to see aircraft doing 160 knots until reaching the FAF, so I tend to maintain either that or 150 until about 1nm from the FAF. At which point, I would introd...

Re: Back course question

While I do understand the argument of being disorientated for something like a missed approach, I would also like to argue that shooting a backcourse may be akin to riding a bicycle with the controls backwards, and is not as easy as it sounds to do, especially if you are fighting gusty winds. Back c...
