Re: Icing Woes
No, I know, it's just that people say icing doesn't do anything in the sim, and that's clearly not the case for every add-on. I have flown in questionable conditions with the A2A Comanche though and did okay, but it has it's limits.

Icing Woes
Just an FYI. I tried taking off in "freezing fog" last night at KIDA. Needless to say, I only got about 50 feet of the runway before crashing at the end. So I guess that answers the question about icing affecting lift

Re: Overstress and Crash with camera view
It was the hat switch on a Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke. I didn't program that switch, it just cycles the pre-selected camera views in all the aircraft that have them. Some add-ons literally only cycle through 4 views tops.
Definitely on 1.3. I have just installed 1.4 though.

Re: Overstress and Crash with camera view
I have the latest update, yes. I was in calm weather, no turbulence, rain, ice, nothing. Was at 1800 RPM and crusing at maybe 155 KIAS. I've had the FSX version and now this one for a long time, total. I probably baby the aircraft more than any sim user online, lol. Was traveling from KPRC to KVGT a...

Overstress and Crash with camera view
I was clicking through the pre-programmed camera views, which started with a close up of the GPS area, emergency gear lever/fuel selectors, switch/circuit breakers, then the next view just crashes the plane. It said it was overstressed and took me to the menu to restart or go to the home screen. I'm...

Try you carb heat? Looks like icing build up.

Re: Stall Sound
Ok, got it. I couldn't remember from the FSX Comanche. I know the Bonanza had a sound. Thx!

Stall Sound
Should I be hearing a sound with stall, or is it just the light? My sounds seem to work fine, but on stall I only see the light. Just curious.

Re: T bar for push and tie downs

T bar for push and tie downs
When I select the T in the tablet I get put outside. I can't seem to get it to seem to do much from there, so maybe my problem understanding how to use it. But, if I hit the T on the tablet again while standing outside, it crashes the plane/sim. I have to reload. It's reproducible. Maybe make the T ...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
For me, it was a disappointment, but not unexpected. It is a (big) business after all. I thought they would go the DCS route of continuous support and updates. Naive me. Now, all the bought add-ons will be needed to be bought again, because the old ones will have "compatibility issues", e...

Re: Question for someone who knows - Lights
For the typical flying purposes, this is how I find most operators use lights: 1. Position or Nav lights on with battery/power, at all times. Those are your green and red wing lights. 2. Beacon or anti-collision lights on with engine start and on continuously with engines running. Those are your red...

Re: Deeply Studying The Manuel
I'm not so certain about cowl flaps. I feel that I've always kept them closed per the checklist in cruise and to the runway. You can even close them on climb provided the CHT temps are ok. For the actual wing flaps, a large number of Bonanza pilots keep them up for landing. I find up or 10 degrees i...

Re: Difficult Approach
I like the older approaches and navigation methods, but using GPS has spoiled me, and I just don't mess with them anymore.
