Re: Engine RPM mismatch after startup

I always have the flight engineer (FE) activated when I'm flying the Connie. Some like to "single-hand" the aircraft. Cool. Here's SimCFI, showing how it's done in style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ln5Z6AtAsY.

Re: Preventative maintenance on flaps

Scott: Thank you! I also put a very similar post in the Comanche Tech Support forum. Seems like the flaps on the Cessna 182 are a bit more robust. Plus the step-wise actuator and the speed range of the airplane, combined with the relatively high allowable flap speeds must help. I really enjoy my A2A...

Re: 2 stupid questions

I've never tried this before, but I'll try to remember next time I fly the P-40: Hit [S] to get outside view, then the button on my joystick that sets mixture to idle-cutoff. It will be interesting to see if I get a little engine sound when I go back into the cockpit. Also, I'll try shutting down ma...

Re: P3D v5 Connie seems to have duller aluminum finish

She got most of her shiny beauty back when I slid the Dynamics Reflections slider all the way left to the OFF position. That's how I'm running it now.

Thank you

Re: 2 stupid questions

My P-40 has always had a slight engine sound as you described in point one above. No idea why. “They all do that.” 😄

Re: Engine RPM mismatch after startup

It's my understanding that it's OK to save a flight plan for a simulator flight, but you'd better not try to file that plan with the FAA. "Save" is the little disk icon in the top part of the flight plan window. "File" is the Briefing and Filing and an inbox icon on the bottom of the flight plan win...

Preventative maintenance on flaps

Guys: Most of us have experienced flap failure - what a drag. Actually more like an asymmetric drag. I preflight my airplane before every flight, and have noticed that that as the flap mechanism starts to wear, the action when I manually wiggle the flap becomes slower. Seems like it's always differe...

Re: Yet another topic about MSFS2020

One thing about the conceivable option of never making an aircraft for FS2020 that A2A has already made for P3D/FSX is that they won't have to deal with the complaints about having to pay again for the FS2020 version of an aircraft that somebody already has bought for FSX or P3D. So how 'bout that e...

Also, you wouldn't want to use actual shotgun loads in the starter. Jus' sayin'.

Re: The Bonanza is a whole new world for me

The Bo can be a handful, alright. I read somewhere that holding a tiny bit of right rudder at the moment of lift off helps to keep her under control. Easy to overdo, but I think it helps. Take your Bonanza up to about 5,000 feet AGL and slow her down, while maintaining altitude. Put down the gear an...
