Re: "Attempt to call a nil value"

Hi Rainer,

You're very welcome - thanks for posting back with the update and good to hear the issue is resolved. Not too sure what the culprit was, but maybe a file in the installation became corrupted or was overwritten at some point.

All the best,
Nick

Re: "Attempt to call a nil value"

Okay, thanks Rainer, That suggests the Accu-Sim module isn't writing to the log.dat file. There can be various reasons for this: for example, third-party software such as antivirus software on file syncing software like Microsoft OneDrive client restricting write permissions. Although only the T-6 s...

Re: "Attempt to call a nil value"

Hi Rainier, Just in case something has become corrupted in the log.dat files for your T-6, please can you try making a back of of the "Documents\A2A\FSX\T6" folder and then manually deleting the whole folder. When you next launch FSX, it should rebuild the log.dat file. If this doesn't help, please ...

Re: P3Dv4 installation problems

You're welcome Uwe and good to hear the issue is solved. Yes, unfortunately Microsoft OneDrive behaviour has become a bit of a problem with some installations. I think the way in which OneDrive is integrated into a new installation of Windows has changed a bit since Lockheed Martin chose the "Docume...

Re: P3Dv4 installation problems

Hello UTF, There are a few different possibilities which we should look into here. The first thing is to make sure that when you launch P3D, the default scenario loads a default aircraft and not a complex add-on as this has been known to cause issues in the past. If in any doubt, for troubleshooting...

Re: C182 Controls 2D Panel (sh-3) question

Hi Heron, There's some discussion of the "simulated elevator force" slider in this thread ; I understand it was introduced some time after the initial 172 release, which is why it isn't covered in the manual. However, basically this slider controls how elevator sensitivity varies with airspeed. A va...

Re: A2A aicraft and FSUIPC for rudder axis

Thanks for the added info Thomas. Bear in mind that a negative slope number for your rudder axis in FSUIPC could make it extremely twitchy. I'd advise that you start off with a simple, linear response and make sure that you're getting the full range of motion for your pedals registered in FSUIPC. Fo...

Re: P3D V4 Academic to V5 Professional

Ah, not sure where you heard that but no, the installer doesn't transfer/update the aircraft from one version of P3D to the next.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: A2A aicraft and FSUIPC for rudder axis

Hi Thomas, For what it's worth, I've used FSUIPC for assigning axes in FSX and P3D for several years with no issues in any A2A aircraft. If you're seeing unexpected behaviour, probably the most important thing is to make sure there's not a conflict between axes. That is, make absolutely sure the axe...

Re: Tail Wheel Retracted on J3 FSX

Thanks for the update Rob. The update shouldn't cause any problems for the Cherokee: it's been downloaded and used by tens of thousands of customers. Just bear in mind that if you don't run it, you won't benefit from the more recent features and bug fixes added to the aircraft. As regards the J-3 pa...

Re: P3D V4 Academic to V5 Professional

Hi John,

Are you trying to install the aircraft into P3Dv5 with the original installer you downloaded for P3Dv4? If so, that'll be the reason for the problem. The solution is to simply download the P3Dv5 version of the installer for each aircraft from your account on the store.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Tail Wheel Retracted on J3 FSX

Hello Rob, sorry for the delayed response. The behaviour that you describe suggests that the software is having difficulties writing to one of more of the files that the add-on uses to record information. One culprit which has been responsible for this with a few other customers is Microsoft OneDriv...

Re: Tail Wheel Retracted on J3 FSX

That sounds about right Rob, the SimConnect.msi is a silent installer. So no change to your Cherokee functionality after running this file? If not please can you let us know if you're launching FSX via any external programs (other than the Steam client itself, of course) or if you have any other FS ...

Re: Tail Wheel Retracted on J3 FSX

The legacy SimConnect installer for the Steam version of FSX is located in the following folder by default Rob. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK The other Rob's suggestion to install it is a good one and it certainly won't d...
