Re: Forgettably good landings & nonexistant inflight troubles
@maddz: ok, though that did indeed happen this flight, there was also an inflight announcement to the same effect, even though the fuellevel at that time must have been at around 40% if not more To add to what maddz was saying about the 10% fuel level; all it takes is for any single fuel tank to hi...

Re: L-049 Connie Update
Would also love to see an updated version. Also - it seems that COTS is waaay to aggressive about having you arrested, and the L-049 connie is frankly kinda ugly. It's just miss-proportioned. The later short-body connies (L-649 and L-749) look much nicer, kind of like fish. The super cnnnies look li...

Re: New Weathership Gauge V1.3 now with Land based HF statio
Cool. :) Question though - if I want to actually go ahead and navigate using them, and plot the positions on an actual paper map (cross-reference two or more them - where the lines intersection is roughly my position) - what kind of map should I use, and where do I get one? The type of projection t...

Re: Super Connie, Starliner.
Yeh, pretty much go with Jahn's connie. No simulation at all of the flight engineer's station in the virtual cockpit, just a flat bitmap, although plenty of 2d panels. And you're not the only one who wishes it had been a L-1049 instead. Spark advance and 9 fuel tanks! (With top tanks.) Also frankly ...

Re: Cool payware airport or scenery that you fly your Connie
Thanks :). I'll skim through these lists. The problem I see is that most if not all of them will only be FSX compatible and not for P3D v4 which I'm using. I think that's the crux if you are trying to fly classic planes in state-of-the-art simulations :O. Jan You can always just go ahead and instal...

Re: Cool payware airport or scenery that you fly your Connie
Thanks for the tipps re the freeware OrbX airports. As a follow-up: Are there any free- or payware airports available (p3dv4 ideally) that are in their historic (i.e. 1940s to 1970s) rendition which would make it really cool to fly to with the Connie? I really doubt it, because everyone usually wan...

Anybody have the rest of the power setting tables/charts?
A2A has apparently learned from the b377 and provided a set of power settings for the L-049. The problem is they didn't include enough of them. There's only one set; you actually need a set for max cruise, economy cruise, and long range cruise, and I don't really know what set is the one included. R...

Re: Um, is the tail "supposed" to be tilted backwards?
The later Constellations, and especially the Super Constellations were nearly completely new airplanes. Their only commonality with the original Connies were the general shape and the wing airfoil. The tails were completely re-contoured, the elevator design was tweaked, the wings enlarged, the wing...

Re: Um, is the tail "supposed" to be tilted backwards?
Ah, I get it. The tail's level in flight; the aircraft's landing gear attitude doesn't correspond to flying attitude. I haven't actually gotten the time to fly it yet; (although I've done a ton of reskinning); I guess if I had I wouldn't have asked this question. (Although to be fair, my l-74...

Um, is the tail "supposed" to be tilted backwards?
I;m pretty much wondering if the tailplane supposed to be tilted somewhat backwards, including a non-vertical rudder hinge line, (inclined forward and downward), or whether that's a mistake on the design team's part. I haven't seen any other fs connies with a tail like that, and it looks rather stra...

Re: extremely annoyed
Umm, this sounds like something that could happen to me, as I also use ASN. (And when flying the b377, the autopilot is on from 500 AGL after takeoff until final approach.) On the other hand, I never have used time compression, and back up my saves multiple times per flight (after discovering that m...

Re: Couple of Power management question on the Connie.
For what it's worth, on other propliners anyway, I reduce from TOGA (Take Off Go Around) to METO (Maximum Except for Take Off) pretty much right after the gear's up. Climb power follows shortly afterwards. The manual (for other birds) call for METO at 400-500 ft above ground. Also, there's recommend...

TAKEOFF TRIM - SET. Set to what?
One omission in both all A2A provided documents, and all real-world documents I've been able to find (I posted them somewhere on this forum, I 'think' in a stickyed thread, after the previous download link failed), is that while the checklists call for setting the takeoff trim, nowhere does it actua...

Re: Prop over speed
I actually asked the same question before; I don't fully remember what the answer was, but I 'think' it was no. I haven't started all that many threads, but I did start that one, so a search to find the thread shouldn't be all that hard.
