Re: A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing

Oh that's a shame. I imagine it would be a long time possibly years before it would be ready to fly again with insurance, etc. and all the while you're not getting utility. Hope someone can restore it rather than part it out so the fleet doesn't shrink.

Re: Cold And Plug Fouling

That's good enough for me. So is the engine running through during run up while doing mag checks or are you just seeing the notes in the maintenance hangar?

Re: Cold And Plug Fouling

Do you lean while in cruise and if so how do you go about it? By the book once you establish cruise power settings (RPM and MAP) you will then lean to peak EGT and then enrichen to 50 ROP. If you run very rich while in cruise, you may end up fouling the plugs over time. If the mechanic is complainin...

Re: Cold And Plug Fouling

The ground drift is a universal issue with the sim engine. There is unfortunately no way to stop this 100%. Turning on and configuring the avionics prior to engine start is not normal practice and doesn't make sense as you need to turn them off for engine start. You would end up losing all your work...

Example of a seriously fouled up plug (this doesn't happen in a few minutes):

Re: Cold And Plug Fouling

Let the engine warm up more before running up. You might just be dealing with a still cold engine and the oil temp should be climbing up closer to the green arc. To cut down on warn up time use the engine preheater option. That said I'm not sure if you are leaning as aggressively as everyone recomme...

Re: Optimum Runup Settings Bonanza

While on the ground after start and prior to run-up run as lean as possible with the engine running smoothly. If it starts to stumble enrichen until it smooths out.The leaner the better as there is no risk at all of harming the engine at idle power.
Jacques' technique sounds just fine.

Scott,

I'm pretty sure he was taking about a separate gear up incident he witnessed last week.

Nick, This might help? Not sure if the issues reported with the files opnly being available on OneDrive are applicable or if there are other steps that can be taken. I found that there is a "Backup" tab in the Onedrive settings dialog where one can un-select the Documents folder. https://answers.mic...

Re: DME Audio IDENT Doesn't switch

The audio is always going to be from the DME station that the DME system is locked onto. DME is a completely separate system from the VOR/ILS stations that they are commonly, but not always paired with. If one locks the DME system to a particular station using the hold function and then tunes the NA...

Is the change to stop the playback of the DME audio unless the DME button is selected on the KMA-24?
