Re: First Fraps Video

I agree with it all, I'm just trying to stop the notion you get that you have to do something a certain way all the time. As a pilot you need to look at the environment you are flying in and adjust. If I'm flying in cold and rainy condition's then I will use carb heat, if I'm flying in SoCal in 100 ...

Re: First Fraps Video

On regards to carb heat. In the Cherokee you normal don't use carb heat, notice how the green band is in most of the TAC. This is how they are flown IRL. In Cessna's like the 172 then that's when you use carb heat when you are out of the green band. Ian, I hesitate to contradict those with RW train...

Re: Thanks A2A for top notch customer service

There is one store that limits you to one download and it has a short time frame to do that in that I can thank of. The price is high for there products as well and that's one reason I now do without there products. BTW there regular price $134.95 on sale for $89.99 If you are referring to PMDG the...

This is not true at least in the US. I'm a IFR student and I have done a lot of training in IMC conditions in a real plane.

Re: Its too powerful

I fly both a -161 and -181 IRL and that pic looks fine. Climb out at 100 Kts IRL in a -181 at MTOW will give me about 700 FPM. A2A piper is right on.

Then the checklist becomes more of a checklist rather than a "to do" list.

Re: Interesting Cherokee 180 video

I must admit that I get complacent and stop using checklists. This once led to me taking off one day with the mixture leaned and not transmitting ALT. Now I make it a habit to always back up my actions with a checklist, especially in a new aircraft type. Always use checklists.

Re: Manifold Pressure

It's a typo, this version of the 172 like most do not have a Manifold Pressure gauge. These gauges are only in planes with Constant Speed Props.

Re: The Ball, the Heater, the flare, taxiing, the usual.

Keep in mind, we don't just tweak this or that blindly; we perform specific tests in the actual aircraft and make sure our Accu-Sim aircraft matches that performance. For example, we drop the flaps and measure speeds and descent rates at various power settings, including power off. We hold the plan...
