Re: Full flaps or partial flaps
abeam runway: 10 flaps, 90 MPH. Base 20 flaps, 80 MPH. Approach, 30 flaps, 70-75 MPH (1.3 * Vso). I flare until the IAS is 60 MPH and touch down slightly above stall speed. That's about how I was taught too. 80-85 knots, flaps 1 on downwind, 70-75 knots flaps 2 on base, 60-65 knots flaps 3 once est...

Re: The stall-resilient Cherokee 180
Just to point out how there are two sides on every coin; often pilots consider relatively poor elevator authority, or "running out of elevator", during landing to be one of the downsides of the PA-28. I can vouch for this, as a former PA-28 pilot. There was sometimes an unsettling experie...

Re: Left handed joysticks?
You do tend to get used to a weird level of inconsistency as a pilot, when it comes to controls. It reminds me of early cars, like the Model T which had the pedals in the 'wrong' order compared to cars today, and the gas was a handle and not a pedal  I have no idea why it isn't more standar...

Re: NASA Largest rocket of all time
That's exactly right, as far as I recall. A straight line will leave no possibility for expansion and contraction, by leading it into curves like this you can provide the pipe with a safety margin for expansion.

Re: question on trim for licensed pilots
What both these gentlemen said. Trim is something which you use to relieve control pressure, i e, if you're on final and find you have to be yanking the stick to keep your approach speed, just adjust the trim to take that muscle power out of the equation so you can focus on something else than const...

I use AirHauler: http://www.airhauler.net/
Great way of justifying flying around in the sim all day long, carrying cargo

Thanks for the great comments guys!
It was just a confluence of factors which came together and gave me a great pic to take. I really appreciate all the kind words. Here's hoping I get to snap one or two more

Ha ha ha, my GOD
I've flown in some rentals in my day... But this one... Let's just say I'd want a look at the seats with a blacklight first

Just really proud of this pic.
Today I came in to the airfield and it wasn't looking like a good morning to fly, it was overcast and the sun was barely peeking out of the cloud layer. Eventually it cleared up and I had two hours of great VFR flying, but I just wanted to share this totally non-A2A-related picture I'm just so proud...

Re: taxiing up slope
Although... this isn't all that unrealistic. I remember trying to do a 180 to backtrack on a grass strip with my instructor, and we kind of looked at each other as the throttle passed 75% and the plane was still glued to the mud... it took a fair bit of poke to get rolling - and keep rolling for tha...

Re: Info On Airspeed Indicator
Actually this is something I'm very interested in too - you'll be hard pressed to find anything that says 'MPH' in Sweden, so the numbers are clashing with what I remember
