Re: A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing
I'm rather surprised and very sorry to hear that your Aerostar will go to a salvage yard. That's a sad end considering all you've put into it, Scott. I really hope someone rescues it and puts it back in the air, where it should be. Good luck in your hunt for a replacement, whatever it turns out to b...

Re: A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing
Yes but only in that we are putting a different airplane on the front burner to be released next. Scott Hhhhmmmmm...well there's an intriguing statement that oughta' ramp up forum participation with wildly rampant speculation over the next...how many days, Scott?? Cheers, Rob Here's proof th...

Re: A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing
It seems 2020 still has a grip on us. Very glad you and Jake landed it as well as you did with no harm to yourselves, and little to the plane. I hope you're all back in the air very soon. That's some very skillful piloting. Well done.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: F2 2020 and A2A Simulations
I know what you are saying about MSFS, but I can't bring myself to try to load all the various scenery, ATC, flight controls, weather, and every add-on that goes into making a 20 year old engine work, sometimes. I had very bad experiences with FSX, Prepar3d and X-Plane. I'll muddle along with MSFS ...

Re: F2 2020 and A2A Simulations
There are a few free Addons that I really am enjoying that fix a lot of issues and make MSFS2020 much more enjoyable: First 2 bush planes from GotGravel. The Savage Carbon https://flightsim.to/file/3723/savage-carbon-stol-realism-mod and Savage Grravel https://flightsim.to/file/5061/savage-grravel-...

Re: F2 2020 and A2A Simulations
So after about five hours now on MSFS and the gloss wearing off, I have a couple of observations about this sim. On my two year old system, with a now ancient GTX1080 video card, 32GB RAM and a decent mother board and I7 CPU, the sim runs very well with everything on high settings and is very smooth...

Re: Another of my hobbies.
I think you're an extremely talented artist and model builder and that those are professional museum level models...amazing!!!  Cheers, Rob Thanks Rob. But there are others on my modelling forum that have me saying the same thing as you. There's a ME-262B build and a F-104 build cu...

Re: A2A Aerostar flights
Stumbled across this recent video taken at Northam airport, about 100kms from Perth, Western Australia. It's a fairly small airport, but obviously big enough for an Aerostar.

Re: Another of my hobbies.
Thanks to the tip on Micro Kristal Klear from "rosslandman" and the generosity of one of my fellow model forum members who supplied me with the parts needed to repair this model, for just the cost of postage, I've finally managed to complete this P-40B model to a standard that I'm happy with. New wi...

Re: Huge 40% Sale + B-17 P3D release!
A very much unexpected surprise release, and thank you very much. The old bird still stacks up.
Does this mean there's hope for the P-47???
Cheers,
Mike

Re: F2 2020 and A2A Simulations
So on Wednesday, I decided to have a go at purchasing MSFS again. As I was looking at the MS store again thinking I'll buy the standard version as I know that works, at which point I had a wee melt down and bought the Premium Deluxe version again. I started the download at about 11pm, watche...

You may well be right, Jeff. We'll see later, maybe next week.jsbrewster1 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2020, 15:48
You can get any of the levels with Steam, I just think trying to go through the MS store is part of your issue, at least from your description.

Re: F2 2020 and A2A Simulations
I've not been able to find a successful solution to the problems I've been having with the PD version of MSFS, so I've submitted a refund request. Assuming I do get my money back soon, I'll have a rethink on this. I'm still keen to go to the new sim, but may delay my purchase a while. Cheers, Mike ...
