Re: Flight Sim World
This might be it! I'm so sick and tired of FSX and the the million things that can break in a reasonably complete setup (and continually do). I just hope they don't build another "sim" without head tracking support, still the biggest joke regarding Flight... And hey... this thing could be ...

Re: Why I've come to like props more than Jets...
Tbh I've never understood why a lot of people are so fixated on jetliners, in real live or in sims - programming an auto pilot, and monitoring dials, ideally for long-haul flights for many hours. Taking the most boring aspect of flying and putting that in a sim, ideally lets also simulate all the as...

Hm you're right, I didn't think of that. Will try next session.
EDIT: Input configurator does the trick, thanks for the hint!

[FSUIPC] Using axis to control carb heat - lever animation?
Hi everyone, I need some help with a little QoL thing for the T-6 (... and here I am, back to fiddling with the sim again ;-) ): I've a free axis on my control setup for the T-6, so I thought I'd use that for the carb heat lever. No problem with FSUIPC, I can control the carb heat position with the ...

Back up occasionally!
Allright I'm back, a bit, now and then ;-) I have been (still am, really) suffering from that real-life-flying-after-the-first-two-years depression, where you realize that anywhere you can afford to go you've been at least once already, and everywhere you'd want to go to is really too expensive to a...

Re: Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Update on this: did the fresh installation today, any found the culprit - a little tool called FS-SIMtimizer (which essentially removes the window border when running FSX windowed, which is why I'm using it). That thing grabs the Shift-4 combo, though I've no idea why, yet - or why it didn't do that...

Re: Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Will do - while I wait for that SSD, I've remapped panel 4 to Ctrl-Shift-4, works perfectly, but haven't found what is grabbing Shift-4 yet (it's still being intercepted and causes stupid sounds to be played).

Re: Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Thanks Lewis, I will have a look.
I also just ordered a larger SSD, once that arrives I guess I will do a clean setup of my gaming machine, I've been wanting to do that for some time now...

Re: Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Hm... I cleaned out stuff that I found, but with the mess that is Windows Registry I probably forgot something important?
Any pointers what/where to check specifically? If not, I might have to aim for a full wipe/reinstall of that computer at some point...

Re: Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Hi Lewis - man you're quick
Yes I removed all FSX traces, settings, folders, anything that was left including addon-tool installations. As clean as I could make it without wiping windows itself.
Latest Accu-Sim updater has been run.

Problems with Shift-4 shortcut...
Hi all, I'm trying to get back into FSX after a long hiatus - one thing I did was move over to FSX-SE, consciously losing all settings/tweaks attempting to do a clean restart. Besides the fact that I'm again/still tweaking fsx.cfg to address things like blurries etc :(, there is now one specific iss...

Hm... I'm absolutely not an airliner or even multi engine guy... But the Connie is gorgeous! Only I'd need to get another two throttle quadrants to do this properly... hm... I've been in the circuit with the Breitling Connie once, in Speyer, and stood next to the runway (where is parked the plane I ...

How about getting in touch with a flying club or flight school at your local airport? I'm sure they'd let you measure a real C172, if you ask nicely...
