Re: Red Dog in Canuck Land ...
hey, I think I can see my house from there! no rly, I really do live right there, I mean here... you know - in Langley to be precise I'm also guilty of cheerfully breaking every "don't buzz the provincial parks and conservation areas with 1000+ horsepower aircraft" regulations - ...

Re: What does a prop spinner actually do?
On a spinner related question -- is the "always stop with the prop coarse" routine still relevant if you have a spinner on? As I hear, I take it that the reason for shutting down with the prop pulled back is so that the inside of the pitch actuator piston isn't exposed to the elements - do...

Re: Why no ADF ??
As someone who also agrees - I'd also like to raise a vote for an ADF receiver I use them as backup for GPS on pretty much every flight, whenever VOR isn't available - especially with the non-integrated GPS unit, which can easily run out of battery (and is not approved for IFR anyway) I reckon there...

Re: T-6 Edge of Envelope Flight Video
the trick with hammerheads is to keep an eye always on your wingtip -- make sure you're perfectly level (90's up, of course) and when you're almost all out of speed, put full rudder and keep some power to blow the tail accordingly - then use your ailerons to "steer" that wingtip so it stay...

Re: Idle RPM?
on a related note - whenever idling for any more than a few moments, make sure you lean out the mix (pull it back until the rpm starts to dip, then return it a bit) that will prevent your plugs from fouling up - just remember to up the mix again before you get moving again, as production of "le...

Re: T6 On Fire!! (I mean really on fire, as in burnin)
so, the thought process behind this bizarre series of events strikes me as though it probably went as follows... "yay, I have a plane, let's go fly" "hmm, the prop won't turn by hand" "yeah, it's jammed locked... might be oil pooled in the lower cylinders" "hmm, if...

Re: In case you wonder about blue smoke around your T6
being rough and tough with the throttle on the ground with the mix wide open makes for quite a bit of "fireworks" -- but that's not detonation, though - it's a much less damaging backfire that you get when enough fuel goes right through to the exhaust and ignites... detonation, or "kn...

Cool, that's ok - I wasn't asking for it now or anything - I just wanted to leave it suggested here so when perhaps the time comes....

Request for "hybrid" canopy arrangement
If I may ask (pretty please) - I would really really like it if your wonderful bird gave us the option to setup the canopy like this: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/Bomber_12th/Bomber_12th001/SNJ-6nasAlameda300dpi_zpsvxdntx35.jpg~original the reason I ask this is that it actually seems to be ...

my personal "would love to have by A2A" lineup:
DHC2 beaver
Piper Twin Comanche
Bonanza V-Tail
it goes on and on... but let's stop here lest I get carried away

Re: Engine cut out on negative G.. and smoke issue
alas, mixture is still unresponsive from rich to the point where it cuts the engine off (around 40% on most ground conditions) I have yet to check the restart issue - but I suspect that might not have been fixed either, given the other reports... edit: on a brief test flight, the engine promptly qui...

Re: Engine cut out on negative G.. and smoke issue
the more info we have, the better it is to isolate the issue -- so far, we have all but determined that this is FSUIPC related, since all the users who are reporting it also use that in my case, the mix is set through a FSUIPC calibration axis, same results as the user before who mentioned having hi...

Re: Rear canopy opening
this sound like more of a FSX setup issue than anything really -- I, on the other hand of this, had not even realized there was a rear click spot (d'oh, of course there'd be - says he in retrospect) and I was using shift+e+2 and it pretty much always* works *always, of course, I mean - by FSX tap-an...

it sure seems like it -- also, quite exciting to see the "all hands on deck" treatment this issue is getting that's A2A's legendary support in action right there let us redirect and regroup at the support thread to muster all our brain powers and puzzle this out - the bug can't hide forever
