Re: Looking for tailspin 45

If you still hang out in these parts and see this verrrrry late reply I’d be happy to share what I know about the bird!

Re: Instrument Approach Procedure

Finally had time to double check the procedure and numbers I offered above. They work fine in the A2A Bonanza, as I expected. 15"MP to descend, (don't forget to bump the mixture up periodically) level off and don't touch the power to slow to gear speed (actually top of white arc) Gear down to d...

Re: Instrument Approach Procedure

Oops, yes. Meant 15” but use what works for your configuration. Once you get the numbers they always work with attention to winds. Had a tailwind on an ILS a few days ago, but headwind on the ground thanks to funky Southern California weather

Re: Instrument Approach Procedure

Haven't tried it in my A2A Bonanza, to be honest Scott, but the IFR procedure I used IRL made for a no fuss, no muss, relaxed approach. (Except that time when the Mooney behind me broke its nosewheel in the divot in the runway made by lightning. On that approach, I had a firm grip on the seat and a ...

Re: Extra Fuel Tanks

It's easy to change the fuel quantity in the aircraft.cfg file. That changes the aircraft's weight too, with full tanks. The downside, of course, is it's not completely realistic because that there's no need to worry about switching tanks, transfer pump failure, and so forth that would be part of a ...

Re: Strange takeoff behavior

Definitely not peculiar to the Bonanza, but it is more of an issue with aircraft that lift off at a higher speed because, of course, that means the tires are turning faster. Rented a 180 Comanche and it was horrible! Turned out someone had slammed on the brakes and flat spotted the mains enough to r...

Re: Strange takeoff behavior

For that matter, the spinning also makes them bigger. Some aircraft require a tap on the brakes to keep them from rubbing the wheel well during retraction.

Most aircraft do it to some extent, it just depends on how well balanced the wheels and tires are.

A tribute to Marius, an extraordinary artist. Sadly this photo doesn't show the small G35 windows that he managed to create to make this repaint authentic.

Re: Two oopsies

No worries! I was seeing the pitot heat indicator in blue with it off and on (yes, I checked the circuit breaker). But I'll check it again, both in FSX and P3D 4.3 now that I've made the transition (which wasn't as painful as I thought.) Off topic, but in case you don't see my comment posted elsewhe...

Re: Exterior Engine Sounds Lacking

Just flew the Bonanza in the P3DV4.3...and the interior and exterior sounds are spot on!

Seems the issue is that FSX handles them differently!

Re: Strange takeoff behavior

Hmmm, that stall issue may well be related, although lifting off at 70 is about 1.2 Vso and stall behavior shouldn't be an issue. But flight models are a witch's brew. In any case, keeping the nose firmly on the deck until 80 and then gently rotating as before did make the situation much less dramat...

If you want to flight her right
