Re: New version of P3Dv5.1 out today.........opinions?

You can safely uninstall P3D 5.0, the Orbx and A2A folders will be left intact. Do not manually remove any of the settings files, especially those in the Documents folder. Then, you can perform a fresh installation of 5.1 and it will pick up your add-ons automatically. I'd avoid messing with individ...

Re: Thinking about p3dv5

There are some noticeable (sometimes very noticeable) performance gains, especially in the areas which have always been problematic (such as Seattle and the San Juan Islands). The problem is that v5 was released before it was ready, really, so there are stability and compatibility issues at the mome...

Re: Accu-sim C172 Trainer - Screenshots

Beauties, absolute beauties :) I've just realized it's been almost seven years now, but I still only fly your N4420R... If you ever find the time to redo that one for v5, I'd be super grateful.

Cheers,
Tym

Re: Windows Update 2004 -- Any Concerns???

The update may have reinstalled the color profile for your monitor, see if anything has changed in the "Color management" panel.

Re: Just one lovely picture of the Bonanza...

Niiiice :) I have to admit v5 has been growing on me, too, despite the initial problems. One question, though... Are you using any shader mods? The one issue I still haven't resolved is the overdone contrast in v5, especially in the VC, but the panel in your shot looks perfect.

Re: Error 525 for forum and site

Hi Vladi,

It appears that the release of the free P-40 (a classy move, BTW!) has caused a huge surge in traffic that overwhelmed the servers. It's been happening for everyone since the release...

Re: Everyone is ordered to stay home and fly flight sims until further advised...

Apart from keeping away from crowds and keeping the hands washed: Set aside as much time as possible to do good and wholesome stuff: flightsimming, reading, making/listening to music, going for a walk (in nature, preferably - with fewer people around), talking to friends and family. Avoid staring a...

Re: Stutter on landing and on unpaved runway

Hi Lewis, All updated and patched up here manually, I never trust Windows Update when it comes to HW drivers... Nick, I've been trying to figure out what could be different about my system or P3D installation, but I'm really out of ideas. The issue is 100% reproducible in my sim, the best way to tes...

Re: Stutter on landing and on unpaved runway

Hi, Just to confirm Ralf's observations, I've actually had this issue with the Cub since the FSX times, but I was using an old X-Fi soundcard with unofficial drivers, so I always put it down to problems with Creative Labs' OpenAL implementation. However, the issue still occurs under P3D with a newer...

Re: Rudder animation problem (P3Dv4.5)

Hi again, I've tested some more and I think there actually is an issue with the tailwheel. As long as there's enough propeller slipstream, you can turn the plane on the ground, but otherwise, the wheel appears to behave like a free-castoring design (even if the animation doesn't necessarilly follow)...

Re: Rudder animation problem (P3Dv4.5)

Hi Nick, Sorry for the late response, I saw your post but was unable to fire up the sim to verify... I was actually testing some visual stuff without having my controllers attached when I noticed that, using keyboard commands only (bad idea, I know...). When a 'normal' axis is used, the rudde...

Rudder animation problem (P3Dv4.5)

Hi, I've just noticed that in my installation, the rudder is not animated in the external view. The only thing that moves are the tailwheel linkages, and they "swing about" instead of staying attached to the tailwheel assembly. The fact that nobody has reported that might suggest a local issue with ...
