Re: Men's Rules
ALL men see in only 16 colours, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a colour. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is. Interestingly enough, this has scientific basis. Men have three kinds of cones in their eyes, to see red, green and blue. Some women (...

Re: How many 1%ers here?
I was born 1949. I just missed your age group. I've just given you an honourary membership. :D Oh thank you Sir. :) Occasionally I remember stuff from my earliest years: Doctors making house calls, and the Little Black Bag they carried. I think the telephone may have killed that practice. I receive...

It was better to be 20 in the 70's than to be 70 in the 20's.

Re: Piper J3 MS 2020
For a long time after buying the original A2A Cub I seldom flew it. Oh, I enjoyed it well enough, but it just didn't seem very useful beyond occasional sightseeing. Then one day I used it to recreate the five day New Jersey to California flight from "Flight of Passage" by Rinker Buck, and ...

Re: What's your favourite bumper sticker?
I very, very briefly (for about 2 seconds) considered getting a bumper sticker that said My other car is a Mercedes ... for my very well used 1979 Mercedes 300D. Then I realized that some people wouldn't think it was amusing. Hook PS. It had 118K miles on it when I bought it, still looked new. I ret...

Re: Is this a joke?
It might be better to move the jokes, perhaps to a new off-topic section. You do realize that serious questions about specific aircraft are actually off-topic in the Pilot's Lounge, right? :) This IS the off-topic section. Really, I'm only here for the jokes and occasional current event news that I...

Re: Is this a joke?
You can always tell the "serious simmers". They never smile, and they think no one else should either. :D "They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. Well, they aren't laughing now!" If I want specific info, I don't look for it in Pilot's Lounge. If I want humor, I do...

Re: Having sound and installation issues
Very Interesting, I didn't know that P3D planes could be modified for MSFS. Not everything translates well. For example, I had to remove all instances of cockpit click points. The bump maps did not translate and I didn't try to do any conversion. Other things I don't remember at the moment. You'd h...

Re: Having sound and installation issues
In my case I had FSX, P3Dv2 and P3Dv4 on my old computer. When I bought a new one six years ago I installed the two P3D's but not FSX, as P3Dv2 had almost everything FSX did. I bought MSFS when it first came out and flew it for a while, mostly in a P3D aircraft I was able to modify. I *think* the 37...

Thanks, Kalnon. I'm glad it worked. I do miss flying the Stratocruiser.

Hey Kalnon!
Glad you got it working. Did the external engine sounds work without any modification? Thanks.
