Re: Savvy Aviator's "Leaning the Right Way" Presentation

Is there a maximum power level, above which you shouldn't lean?

Thanks.

edit: Ah, I see that the PDF covers that :)
(Lean except during engine start and on takeoff and climb below 3000')

Re: Donate the MSFS Comanche to a friend

An interesting question on this point if you can't donate a copy to somebody else, is why the store lets you buy more than 1 copy of an aircraft?
Just a thought :)

Re: It really is beautiful.

Okay, where I am seeing that there's carb ice? Thanks :) I think because they are running at what looks like full power, but only getting about 20” MAP, at 7500ft. Ah thanks for that, so throttle is pretty much fully in, and only getting 20". I didn't notice that. I was looking for carb air te...

Re: What does accusim really means ?

But at the same time, it runs outside of the sim I think. Not disagreeing with Dudley, he obviously knows much more about it than me, but as I understand it, technically you get an icon in the system tray for Accusim now, and if it isn't there then it hasn't loaded it and the plane won't work proper...

Re: XPlane 12

Does anyone really uses in-sim ATC? (except in DCS where you have to) I haven't tried it with xplane 12, but Pilot2ATC works with xplane 12 apparently (and has real world procedures and works with voice sampling). Actually, just remembered: a few months ago I found a youtube video on using Amazon's ...

Re: XPlane 12

Yes, I've bought it. As with any new version of a sim, the initial public release needs time to mature. So, for example the Zibo Mod 737 is too slippy (not enough drag, although tbf, so is the PMDG in MSFS apparently, also VNAV isn't working properly on the Zibo). Perhaps because of this, Zibo seems...

Re: New Aircraft Suggestion

Did they have access to a Strat, Connie, or 17? There are only like 4 airworthy Fortresses and two Connie's in the world. I'm sure there are more Jetstar flying. I'd understood that they had. Lack of opportunity to test was one of the reasons why they hadn't made a Lanc yet I'd thought. Plus, Lewis...

Re: 5G Effects

According to an article read on the BBC, 5G in Europe uses a lower frequency than in the US, and 'Band C' for 5G is pretty close to the frequency used for radio altimeters. It seems a bit weird to me that they let it get this far though. (apparently they're thinking of non-5G areas close to airports...

Re: my thoughts on MSFS (2020)

I always laugh when I see how many hours I've apparently spent in MSFS as well (I sometimes find myself wondering if counting the overnight updates as gametime is all a cunning plan to weight the numbers in the Steam stats). It is a lot of fun to fly in. But at the same time I attempted 2 flights to...

Could it be seen as an alternative to Eagle Dynamics DCS ?
You think that making an alternative to DCS is easier than making an alternative to MSFS? Less of the world is modelled in DCS, but otherwise it would still be quite a project.
