Re: Mooney Cockpit Tour

I came across Josh's channel about 1 to 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed his recent content. I found both the Mooney and coast-to-coast series quite enjoyable and enlightening.

Do you fly with only one hand on the yoke?

I was watching some general aviation videos on YouTube recently and noticed that in all of the videos, the pilots had one hand on the yoke and one hand on the throttle during takeoffs and landings. This was a bit of a surprise to me not having thought much about it before, but I think it makes sense...

Landing a C172 - power off at threshold or flare?

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on landing the C172 and most GA aircraft in general. The checklists for the C172 recommend to land with throttle power off. However, it's not clear to me when the power off phase should actually occur. My current method is to pull the throttle from 1500 rpm down t...

Where is the autopilot static source opening located?

I've been flying A2A's C172 for quite some time now, but something in the preflight checklist has always eluded me. It mentions to check the autopilot static source opening for blockage (if installed). However, I can't seem to figure out where it would be located on the aircraft if it is was indeed ...

Re: Flap settings for normal approach and landing

Here's my best guess based on operating notes, other aircraft, and general transport experience. UP=0% TAKEOFF=60% APRCH=80% LNDG=100% Use TAKEOFF for takeoff (I guess UP is also an option, I never use it) and during intermediate segments of the approach. APPROACH is used after intercepting the gli...

Flap settings for normal approach and landing

I am having a difficult time figuring out how the flap percentages in the manual translate to the Takeoff, Approach, and Landing labels displayed in the Connie's cockpit. On page 132, the manual states to lower flaps 40% during approach. At first, I thought that this was the Landing setting labeled ...

Re: What does shift+1 do in A2A aircraft?

Many thanks for the replies and the insight into the 2D panel. It sounds like shift+1 is a great candidate for the GTN.

What does shift+1 do in A2A aircraft?

This may seem to be an odd question, but what does the shift+1 key assignment do in A2A aircraft? It seems that Panels 2-9 all have 2D pop-up screens, but when I hit shift+1, the screen flashes once with no pop-up panel. The panel config file says that Window00 is allocated to the Main Panel. I am c...

Re: Cannot get ultra graphics in P3D ver 4

Hi Alan, I have a pretty beefy system (i7-7700K and GTX 1080Ti), and even I am refraining from using P3D v4's highest settings so that I can get optimal performance. I normally get 45-60 fps with A2A and RealAir aircraft flying in Orbx regions. I have settings such as Special Effects, Building Autog...

Re: Removing joystick jitter without using FSUIPC?

I'd say in terms of advanced software processing of hardware axis inputs, the only replacement for a copy of FSUIPC is another copy of FSUIPC. It really does seem to be the FS utility equivalent of the Douglas DC-3 in this regard. Having said that, I was a very late adopter of FSUIPC4 and...

Removing joystick jitter without using FSUIPC?

I asked this question over at AVSIM but didn't get any recommendations, so I thought I would try over here. I am trying to setup my CH throttle quadrant in P3D v4 without the need to purchase FSUIPC 5. In P3D v3, I was using FSUIPC 4 and its axis assignment tab had a default delta value of 256 that ...

Re: Questions on P3DV4 Installers

I'm wondering if the changes are related to a bug being discussed in Prepar3D's forums.

http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=124883

I'm not sure if the bug in the link's topic is a Prepar3D bug or an A2A C172 bug.

P3D v3 C172/182 sounds continue while in FSUIPC?

I'm running P3D v3.1 on Windows 10. When I open the FSUIPC module while running the A2A C172 (or C182), its engine/prop sounds continue to play. When I exit FSUIPC, my speakers make a couple of popping noises and then the sound and scenario is paused. I have only experienced this with the A2A aircra...
