Re: BoB night fighting

Thank you for your replies. From what I've found so far, this was the earliest stage of learning how to conduct air operations at night. RAF was using the chain home system of radars to get the night fighters w/in 4-5 miles of the target raid. Then two ideas were tested. A radar equipped AC would tr...

BoB night fighting

Hi All, Looking for detailed information on how Dowding organized his night fighter units, aircraft types, squadron designations, AC counts, radars (ground and airborne), and control methods during the Battle of Britain (July to November 1940). Do any of you know of such a source(s)? Thank you, Randy

Much better. Always thought the terrain colors looked too washed out. Now they look alive.

Re: Campaign 2.14 beta

Fixed a couple of problems with c04a. - LW was getting too many write-offs. - Bomber losses were too high, due to detached escorts not intervening in enough instances. Updated test .exe c04b_213.7z: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i50bq6v96cnid5y/c04b_213.7z Testing this from the RAF side gives lopsid...

Re: Lets work together to get BOBII to work on Windows 10.

Some time back I asked a friend (certified VM specialist) about that possibility. He said that VMware uses its own internal graphics processing, so can't do the 3D graphics required. His background is in server farms using VMware. Still would be interesting to test. Isn't there a freeware version fo...

Re: 2.13 Campaign bug?

Hi Boompus, I am the coder responsible for the campaign. Been away a while. In 2.11, the version when I first volunteered, there was no known way for the LW to win, without the player flying every mission and flying/shooting extremely well. I may be the only person who won the 2.11 LW campaign witho...

Re: directives shows at the beginning, then is gone for good

Directives can only appear at the start of a game day phase (0630, 1100, 1600). Turn directives on, then wait for the next day phase to begin, they'll pop up. RAF Directives are pretty good. LW directives are awful and LW player will do much better planning raids for himself. 2.13 is nearing release...

Daniel, http://www.mediafire.com/download/v5yznzlnfv2zevv/boblang.dll Here is the final revision of the Spanish language .dll. Re: Pilot bail out and campaign questions

Hello, I apologize about your wait for a reply. I don't normally look into the FAQ forum. Squadron leader casualties: I assume the pilot bailed out in 3D. 3D code is mostly a mystery to me. In the 2D code (campaign map combat) when a commander is put out of action, the historical second commander of...

Re: Windows 10 success

I looked up the Windows 10 key binds. Appears nearly all Alt-__ binds are reserved for application use (not the OS). My hunch is that this crash is related to the Alt-Tab crashes in 3D. There is a great deal of memory shuffling and screen resolution adjustment when exiting the 3D. Is it possible the...
