Re: With VR I'm seeing flight sims in a new way!

I believe those requirements are for casual vr games such as beat sabre etc

Re: With VR I'm seeing flight sims in a new way!

I am tempted to buy Rift S as my first VR device. However currently i only have poorish PC, i5 4670k 16gb ram and 1070gtx. Can anyone tell me can i get good experience in lighter sims such as afs2 and warthunder? And i mean proper stable 80fps with good detail. I am planning to upgrade my PC when fs...

Re: Why aren't many people into warbirds?

I love both, but if i'd have to choose only one, i'd choose the "Taurus". Why? Because for me realism is the key. I think the well-behaving Cessna that can be extensively test-flown to comply flight data for a simulation, and that also is the plane you actually can fly in real life. They work better...

FSX SE Beta branch update

"We've released a new beta branch for FSX:SE that will help us gain valuable new telemetry data that will help us in the development of the new Microsoft Flight Simulator." https://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/eventcomments/3338785229796115748 There actually seems to be some bug fixes too :D After ...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 - News and Footage

Fligchops seems pretty blown away too.

I'm superglad that this sim seems to be what i've hoped, hc civ sim with truly modern tech. Pretty sure i never have to re-install fsx ever again and about time. (still have it and will fly it tho)

Re: A2A and DCS

Some A2A Magic would really be welcomed in the world of DCS... Nearly all DCS modules are amazing in graphics, flight dynamics and detail, but especially the piston ones all lack the a2a magic. For example, ED Spitfire looks awesome and feels like a warbird to fly, very hard to land, very dynamic mo...

Re: What is your style of flight simming?

Main interest is and has been GA flying. It's simple, realistic in a way you could really do it in real life, realistic in a way that developers like a2a have access to GA planes, realistic in a way that their flight model is not hardest to do. But also GA flying is relaxing and interesting too. But...

Re: Which procedure would be preferred IRL...?

Thank you for your answer Dudley. The reason why i am asking this is, that in a SIM, where death is not an option, if i am perfectly positioned on traffic pattern, but for some reason i am too slow, i might just add power so that i will NOT ruin my perfect altitude on pattern, so i just add throttle...

Re: Which procedure would be preferred IRL...?

I don't see it as a choice between two options, I see it as all of the above as addimg throttle will be accompanied by a change in pitch anyway. It's a dynamic situation. If you add power and don't lower the nose, you will soon find yourself too high. Yes, but if you'd go only a tad slower as inten...

Both.
So the answer would be "1" (with throttle), because the point on option "2" was not to sacrifice altitude for speed (again, in a situation where we are not in DANGER, but just way slow).

Which procedure would be preferred IRL...?

Okay, let's suppose that we are on BASE leg. Our stall speed is 50 knots, our altitude is pretty spot on, maybe very slightly on the low side, now we notice that we are too slow, say, 57 knots. (Or what ever speed that is considered too low, but not downright dangerous) Would you: 1) Lower the nose ...

Re: New Microsoft Flight Sim in 2020?

I think all the MS FS's have been good products in their time. I'm still using FSX after more than a decade. So, stastically speaking, the new Flight Simulator will be good :) If the end product will be superior sim in league of its own (as it would be graphics-wise according to the trailer), i am r...

Re: New Microsoft Flight Sim in 2020?

I wonder how much the new MSFS will eat up your harddrive, or, your bandwidth. They used 2 petabytes of geographical data to create the world. Obviously the end result is smaller, but given the fact that AFS2 already eats 125 gigs of hdd with much poorer graphics and it just has west united states r...

Re: New Microsoft Flight Sim in 2020?

I really hope that there is no any backwards compatibility. We need modern fresh sim imo. And probably time to get better default flight model than the old table based one and get similar to dcs, xplane and even afs2...

And based on that trailer i am sure this is truly new sim...
