P40 Warhawk around Orbx 61B Boulder City Airport
As a thanks for the generous gift of the P40, and with the latest Orbx airport hot off the presses, I went exploring the desert and canyon scenery. If you want to check out the airport itself, go over to the Orbx forums, but this video shows there is a lot more than just the airport to explore, and ...

Re: The Wright Brothers DID Invent the Airplane
Well there's a body of evidence that a NZ inventor actually flew a controlled heavier than air craft before the Wright Bros, and wasn't there something recently on TV about evidence that another inventor in New England or Canada somewhere had flown for a long distance down a river corridor and press...

Re: Which procedure would be preferred IRL...?
I've found the best way to get comfortable in the circuit is to go into failures and disable all instruments. Then practice a few circuits flying by MK1 eyeball alone. After that you should be doing what a pilot should be doing in the first place, flying the plane, instruments only there to act as a...

Accusim in the Comanche
A recent experience with the reality of accu-sim. You might note that the rain effects weren't working, seems I hadn't updated when I went for this flight...

Re: CH yoke and rudder peddles issues
Yep all the CH stuff plugs directly in. The yoke and pedals must be 8 years old now, so a good clean is due. That's why I was asking for a link to cleaning advice...
And thanks for the info DVM I shall go to my local electronics store and get some non lube cleaner.

Re: CH yoke and rudder peddles issues
My pots are getting very jumpy nopow.
Can anyone point me to a safe cleaning technique (youtube video would be ideal) and/or:
Where would I get new pots? Some forums I've read say it's difficult to determine the specs of the pots and CH doesn't give the info out.

Re: A2A Christmas sale?
You know you can buy the Bonanza and be flying all you like for about the cost of a dozen coffees or a couple of mid range restaurant meals? I uess it's all about priorities but sometimes when you want something it's worth paying for.

Re: Je suis mort (I am dead)
There was insufficient time to survive, hence I am morta. it was a matter of just 2-3 seconds only. Perhaps with a little more altitude I would be alive today to argue the point further but alas I am not.

Je suis mort (I am dead)
This report is coming to you from beyond the grave, however let it be a lesson to those who are still living... I had just taken the rented Bonanza out and taken off from Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka and headed to the east coast to land at Trincomalee, a beautiful harbour and town popular with visitors...

Re: Flaps efect
Well, when I'm in the circuit for landing in the Bonanza, and I have selected flaps, pretty quickly I need to add a bit of power to avoid going too slow. I must admit I haven't done any tests of flaps vs no flaps but I seriously doubt A2A would not be modelling the correct behaviour. With the higher...

Re: New Monitor
I bought a Philips 40" 4K monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, and with my GTX970 it struggled in denser scenery like Orbx TE Netherlands, but I have since upgraded to a GTX 1080 and I can't fault it. yOur GTX 1070 shouldn't have a problem handling 4K, as it is only one step below the 1080...

Re: Next generation of P3D
You paid for a flight simulator that you can use until the cows come home. End of. You want a newer better flight sim? You pay. End of. Unless of course you can find a way to develop and upgrade the product that costs LM nothing in wages and other costs, in which case LM would love to talk to you ab...

Re: Accu-Sim Bonanza in development, cockpit first look
[quote="The whole VC is looking superb, I’m just a litttle disappointed,I was expecting some kind of EDM to monitor engine parameters, like individual cylinder EGT/CHT and lean assist modes. [/quote] I prefer the authentic approach. If the instrument is in the original then it's included...

Re: Accu-Sim Bonanza in development, cockpit first look
Looks fantastic.
Can I make a request that the curtains have an on off option in the control panel? Often times I fly for VFR and maximum all round visibility is important in these flights.
Thanks
