Re: Prepared 3D v4.5 is out!

In the past, LM has offered P3D hotfixes in the form of a new client installer. That suggests you can use it as part of a full install when it's released. If you wanted, you could download the full install now and store it. When the hotfix comes out, you can swap in the new client for the current on...

Re: Testing Virtual Fly's new Yoko the Yoke +

Thanks, Dudley - that's great to know about the discount. I'll talk to Jetline about it. I'm a fan of Hall sensors thanks to Thrustmaster. I can see where they'd be an improvement in the Yoko (the original had a bit of play in it near the center, though it was quite good). I'm even more interested i...

Re: Testing Virtual Fly's new Yoko the Yoke +

How do you find the Yoko + compares to the original? Do the Hall sensors give it a better or more accurate feel? Or is the value* more that the performance of the Hall sensors is less likely to deteriorate over time? Also - revisiting a question we've talked about before - do you still think the per...

Re: WWII real time, Photo Development Unit

As I understand it, Cotton was among the first (maybe *the* first?) to see the value of fighters for recon. The early wisdom was that medium bomber types would be most useful, therefore the Blenheims and Hudsons. The aircraft St. Exupery flew in 1940 (as narrated in Pilot de Guerre/Flight to Arras) ...

Re: Flying and Pets

@Danielee123 - is your post by any chance a commercial message on behalf of pet products? Sort of like this one ? I hate to play forum policeman - and I'm probably not qualified to take on that role - but I'm wondering idly how A2A might feel about having their forum turned into a promotional bullet...

Re: Thinking of buying - some questions please

Another set of things to think about - what controllers (yoke/joystick and/or pedals) are you using, and what are their settings? Choice of controllers and variations in settings can make a big difference. Here's a thread that might be worth a look. Coming back to a couple of your original questions...

Re: CFS3 not opening in Win 10

@Skycat - maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but there are two superb combat sims originally based on the CFS3 engine (but now running independently) - Wings Over Flanders Fields , a WWI sim that's fully developed, and Wings Over the Reich , a WWII sim currently available but being built out...

Re: + A2A Flying Hours for Skin makers Q for A2A

do you remember an Australian flight sim website that was somewhat associated with ORBX ? I can't remember the name and I can't find it either. VistaOz? or VOZ for short? Haven't thought of it in years, but... that was where John Venema posted his first (freeware) Australian scenery. There's a desc...

Re: To Jockey the Throttle

Close - it refers to making a constant series of small adjustments, the way a jockey would work the reins and maneuver the horse through the field. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/jockey Comes to the same thing as Ian suggested - but it’s about something the jockey does while strug...

Re: P3D "update"?

Good discussion, as always (and as usual, a tribute to the quality of this community). My perspective - as you can tell, I'm not 100 percent supportive of A2A (or anybody else, for that matter) but I'm still pretty supportive. As in, I've been a customer and a forum member for going on 10 years (I c...

Re: P3D "update"?

Since the discussion includes mention of other publishers and developers, I have to say I appreciate Aerosoft's policy of charging only for new code. Simple and easy to explain and understand. Perhaps that establishes that I'm guilty of coercion or entitlement. But then, I've never been good at cults.

Re: Product Status Update?

Therefore, if expiration is a thing, then we need a regular output of some kind. As someone who has all A2A products, there is the danger of the points I have accrued expiring. Same here. I'd missed the post about the points expiring. It's a bit concerning - at the moment, I use only P3D and alread...

Re: P51 Drifting on Takeoff

If you're using no more than 30 inches of manifold, that's a problem - you won't have nearly enough power for takeoff. 30 inches is a point where you'd stop to verify your engine gauges are in the green, then advance the throttle to 46 inches (conservative) or 55-60 inches for the takeoff run. That ...
