Re: Windows Defender Flags Comanche Install files (3/10/2024)

There is at least one other developer getting a false positive from Windows Defender on their installer. Microsoft has been notified and is aware of the issue. Your call..........but excluding the installer folder from Defender in Windows settings is working for others.......including myself. Be awa...

Re: Just when you think you're getting good with your T-6...:)

As you probably are aware I've spent a lifetime involved directly with airshow flight safety. With this in mind I will say I have always made a clear distinction between precision flying and a "stunt". I've never been a real fan of "stunt flying". I remember one time seeing the ...

Re: Just when you think you're getting good with your T-6...:)

Been done before and even better. Back in 1937, Chennault, MacDonald and Williamson in P12's tied themselves together with rope and flew demonstrations as the "Men on a Flying Trapeze" If I recall correctly there was no "breakaway" ability on the ropes. Chennault ans MacDonald o...

Please tell me they were plastic chains! I’m quite sure! …and holy crap regardless!! Been done before and even better. Back in 1937, Chennault, MacDonald and Williamson in P12's tied themselves together with rope and flew demonstrations as the "Men on a Flying Trapeze" If I recall...

Re: GNS750 Course Line Question

I suppose this means it is good? :) I've been looking for a good corporate / commuter since forever. -Esa It must be...my first flight in the Lear was on January 9th and as of last night, I've logged 96.5 hours in it. The majority of my RW flight time was in early gen business jets during...

Re: GNS750 Course Line Question

Dudley: I have a Comanche in P3D v5 and it's equipped with the Garmin GTN 750 by RXP. I also have a BMW R1250RS with a Garmin Nav6. The Nav6 has a setting that forces the little motorcycle icon on the road route you're following. I couldn't find a similar setting on the GTN 750 in my sim that would...

Re: GNS750 Course Line Question

Same here. I've been battling with this issue now for some time. Left in default view it's difficult to track the line and have the airplane icon on the line. Clicking out to 6 or 7 miles merges the line with the airplane icon. It's puzzling ! Puzzling indeed and now curiouser and curiouser... As I...

Re: GNS750 Course Line Question

'Morning Dudley, It's not a bug. I never noticed it because I don't usually zoom below 10 nm while enroute...or, ever actually. In NAV tracking mode, my CDI shows slightly right of course until zoomed out to 7.5 nm+. Cheers, Rob Same here. I've been battling with this issue now for some time. Left ...

GNS750 Course Line Question

For anyone using the free Garmin 750 for cross country; With a flight plan active does the default view for the 750 show the aircraft icon on the magenta line as you proceed on course, or do you have to click the view out to as far as 6 miles to get the aircraft On the line? I just want to know if t...

Re: Setting the rudder trim at take off

Personally, I would not set the rudder trim in an attempt to compensate for crosswind. I think it is a bad idea for three primary reasons. First, there is no single rudder trim setting that would be 'correct' for the entire takeoff roll, even if you knew the wind to the knot (you would not in reali...

Re: Good article about the continuing Boeing culture of failure

Agreed. The joke I always heard was that McDonnell Douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money. Despite the fact that the purchase was ostensibly of MD by Boeing, they ended up with the MD execs running the outfit, ousting the Boeing culture of engineering first and replacing it with the MD bean coun...

Re: Good article about the continuing Boeing culture of failure

To big to fail, certainly. I've been saying since the Max crashes that this really highlights a failure with the idea of having critical national infrastructure privatized and tied to the free market: Boeing cannot compete with a state sponsored competitor on cost. But they've been obligated to try...

Re: Good article about the continuing Boeing culture of failure

This is a decent read. Boeing's current problems aren't isolated with just their commercial airline division. The US Air Force actually at one time halted accepting deliveries of the new Boeing KC-46 Tankers due to defects in manufacture. https://www.vox.com/money/24052245/boeing-corporate-culture-...

But this is just me and how I view AI and movies. :-)) You keep saying "AI", but I think you mean CGI, as in Computer Generated Images (aka Visual Effects). AI is reserved for Artificial Intelligence which doesn't really fit here. There's one in every package. LOL Dudley Henriques

https://i.imgur.com/H8wZB5r.png A group of a dozen tech executives on their way to a conference have found themselves stranded in Gillette, Wyoming, after their airline flight was forced to divert. A LARGE sum of money has been offered to anyone willing to take members of the group the rest of the ...
