Re: recommended carb heat usage

Generally speaking in prop fighters, as far as carb ice is concerned you familiarize yourself with a good icing chart and use the carb temp gauge and monitor manifold pressure. Normal position for the heat is OFF. You only use heat if there are indications of carb ice.

Re: JUST DESTROYED MY FSX

OMG. Re: Full forward on yoke won't stop ballooning.

Edit: Reading what others have suggested I find I might have misread your post. It definitely would NOT be normal that a full application of control would not correct a pitch excursion as that would violate the certification specs for the aircraft and not be normal for how we coded the flight model....

Re: Full forward on yoke won't stop ballooning.

First let me say I'm not a pilot, never have even flown in a cessna182 or anything close but I'm retired engineer and I've been simming for longer than many of you have been alive (anyone remember Sublogic Flight Simulator for the Commodore Amiga computer.) But long story short, I'm doing touch and...

Re: P3D???

Hello All, I recently got a new gaming computer as a gift from my parents last Christmas and have switched to flying X-plane and over all I have fallen in love! no more crashes stuttering, or flying on rails it also seems to make to make better use of my pc than fsx ever could. My only problem is A...

Re: Aerostar 600 question

Hello everyone, I'm quite excited about the upcoming Aerostar and have started designing a home cockpit around this aircraft. I was hoping someone could tell me the distance between the yokes, centre to centre. Cheers Ping Scott on this. I'm sure the next time he's at the hangar he can measure it f...

Re: Thank you very much A2A!

Thank you A2A! What probably would normally be a pretty decent product (MilViz Beaver) has left me a little dissatisfied since owning an A2A Comanche! Yeah it's a nice plane, the Beaver, but it is certainly no A2A!! Damn you A2A you have spoilt me and I will just have to buy A2A from now on! 😂 Welc...

Re: Question about the Cherokee 180

Is this Cherokee model an Archer II? Also, what is the preferred or mandated speed for touch and go operations? Not an Archer as stated by Ratty. As for touch and go speeds, use your normal approach speed and landing speed. There is nothing special airspeed wise involved with touch and go's. Just l...

Re: Custom panel

I would strongly second what Lewis has said concerning the 2D panel. There was a time in the early days when the 2D panels provided more realism than the VC's but that time has long passed. Today's virtual cockpit and panel is FAR superior in every respect to a 2D panel. Just take a look at our Cher...

Re: Checklist Suggestion

Thanks for the links gentlemen. I have made checklists and downloaded checklists but I would prefer to spend my time flying the planes. Since I consider the A2A planes premium products, I thought adding an extra document to the install would be nice and easy. The A2A manuals are a work of art and I...

Re: Crash on take-off

Thank you. Yes, I am new to the A2A aircraft and am not a real pilot. My problem was letting the aircraft lift off, without me pulling back on the yoke, before it had sufficient speed. By holding it down on the ground, the speed built up and I managed to get into the air and more importantly - it s...

Re: Crash on take-off

No - I don't have FSUIPC. Running the simulation at its lowest speed, the aircraft speed drop, it turns to the left and it stalls. Flaps are set at 10 degrees, the throttle and mixture are on full. See attached image. Even though revs are up and climb is under 5 [img][https://imagizer.imageshack.co...

Thanks everybody. The flashlight is a good find. It returns things to normal for a night time shutdown.
