Re: Accu-Sim P-40 on final

If anyone wants to train realistically like our WWII heroes did, start off in A2A's Cub for about 5hrs, move on to the PT19 (Piglet's FSX model), then to a decent T6 Texan and then on to the P40. The T6 makes it a really good transistion to the P40.

Re: Webinar - Buying, Flying and Owning a Piper Cub

No. The market for a nice restored Cub is about $35,000. But, there's no reason to buy that pristine an airplane. Just get a decent flying one that you can have fun with. Those go for around $25-30,000. I bought mine for $24k about 1.6 years ago. Edit: oops, I see you're in Germany. I'm sure they co...

Re: Realism Question

Down here in South Texas, it is often very hot and HUMID. HUMID is the key here...and we have to constantly be concerned about carb ice in flight, especially with these little Continental engines.

Re: Continental A65 carburetion question

Some J3 Cubs do have mixture knobs. I don't believe they ever came from the factory this way, though.

Another thing is that the J3 cub rarely flies higher than 500 - 3k feet

Also, Cubs have a primer..so sometimes people use that.

Re: Fuel weight in the front seat

Yea don't thikn you can do it without adding heidi to the front seat, however, you can just add the extra 10 lbs to your own pilot profile...but it won't really simulate the CG shift.

I'm thinking of making some missions for the Cub....

Hi all, I am thinking of making some custom missions for A2A's Cub and was wondering if anyone here may be interested in them? I have never made missions before, but I think I will spend some time learning how to create them...hoping it's not too difficult. I am thinking of recreating real historica...

Re: Mission pack..

I'd like to see a mission done for the Piper Cub (military version). Should be less complex. Just need to do some aerial observation work of enemy targets or be an air taxi for certain high ranking officials that need to get to important meetings.

Re: Need to redownload my files. How??

Hey Scott,
Thanks! I didn't get an email notice or anything, sorry. I just logged into the store and it's downloading now. Thanks again, keep up the great work.

Need to redownload my files. How??

I need to redownload the Cub and Accusim files since I had to reformat my computer for Win7.

How do I go about doing this? I tried to contact the store, but haven't heard back yet.

My order # is: 52380

Thanks.

Re: Carb heat question

Use Carb Heat any time you are below 2000rpm. I sometimes fly cruise at 2000rpm because I get better endurance out of the airplane that way (although the recommended cruise rpm is 2150). I'm a real J3 pilot, so this is actually what I use. The reason that we need to be very diligent on our carb heat...

Re: Additional type

I don't know all the differences, but the major ones are: -65hp engine (the military did not use anything greater than 65hp at the time) -plexiglass "greenhouse" giving the back seater more visibility -large radio installation for back seat occupant (this allowed the front pilot to solo fr...

Re: Glide is still too much, despite new patch!

Just flew it with the hotfix. Being a real Cub pilot, this is my comment:

THEY GOT IT RIGHT, FOLKS. This is the real deal now. The Cub is now PERFECT.

Thanks!

Re: Glide is still too much, despite new patch!

Thanks Alan, that's the one I was referring to. I was just wondering why it was being talked about over there and not here, on the official forums. I can't check all forums across the web ya know! No hard feelings, I appreciate the constant support and tweaking going on behind the scenes. Than...
