Re: Flickering cockpit lights

I use TrackIR and a 49” curved monitor… so rarely any camera movement beyond that… and of course I cannot get the problem to replicate, to test. What I remember, was different banks of instruments flickered at different rates… like the “six pack” flickered differently than the engine gauges (oil pre...

Re: Flickering cockpit lights

Same here... no Beta anything, nor lighting mods..

At first I actually though it was modeled.. worn alternator and/or tired battery; struggling to keep up... and that it stopped, when the battery reached a certain charge level.. :P

Re: Flickering cockpit lights

Yes.. I get it too. Comes and goes, and usually cures itself, several minutes into a night flight.

Re: VOR’s not working

Shot in the dark, as it happened to me, but with the 530..

Even the LOC appears selected, sometimes I have to cycle it to GPS, then back to LOC..

Re: No power for take off

FAA encourages oxygen use for pilots on flights operating above 10,000 feet mean sea level (MSL). The regulations for flying above an altitude of 12,500 up to and including 14,000 are fairly simple. At that altitude, all crew must use supplemental oxygen continuously if the flight is over thirty min...

Re: Prefer the old Comanche to the new (Landing-Wise)

This relates to my - oft’ mentioned - concern…

… a tad too much lift when configured for landing, at/near and especially below approach speed (roundout/flare)… which might manifest as too much elevator authority.. floaty/twitchy, trying to get her to stop flying.. actually stall for touch down ?

Re: Garmin 430 not working properly

Possibly related... I decided to try some old school (no GPS flying). When I "reinstalled" the 530, the data fields were empty (after entering a direct-to). Exiting the the sim, and starting it again, solved the problem. My guess... is that when you take the GPS out, you must restart the g...

Re: A noob question about hte electric fuel pump...

For "closed traffic", I'd use it as procedural practice. Gear up, fuel pump off... gear down, fuel pump on.

Re: The Comanche an me - continued...

I’ve contended from release, that lift as a function of airspeed, should taper off just a tad more sharply, at lower airspeeds. But as is, is pretty darn good… This would make take off rolls a tad more realistic, too. It just seems a little too floaty, gear down, full flaps, throttle at or near idle...

Re: Wear and failure rates seem too high

I changed oil at 50hrs.. but apparently forgot to change the filter... it failed, and took a cylinder with it, 10 hours later. Maybe an ultra-realistic wear-n-tear setting, for those who operate ultra-realistically ? I realize that with realistic wear-n-tear, the average sim user would not see any r...

Re: I just wanted to write how much I love this plane

The reason this plane is so great in my opinion is the amount of effort that went into capturing how a real engine operates and feels and the characteristics of how the plane Flys. That was a major accomplishment... how fuel-flow/power are tied to MP/RPM/mixture/altitude.. right down to subtle fluc...

Re: Camera.config file settings not updating once edited

I keep this cheat... in a notepad document..

p= pitch
b= bank
h= heaading

x= distance left or right. + is right and – is left.
y= distance up and down. + is up and - is down.
z= distance forward and back. + is forward and – is backwards

Re: Camera.config file settings not updating once edited

For what it's worth... I edit almost every aircraft's, pilot camera.. x,y,z .. and .. p,b,h... to best function with a 49" curved, ultra-wide monitor, and TrackIR..

... using Notepad. It always works well..

Re: Error in the compass error

Hello and how I'd already said, a big thanks, and I'm very grateful for this wonderful work! I would like to know if it's an error/problem by my side or general. I recently learned about the compass errors, and it seems not to be correct in the Comanche. I talk about the "ACCELERATION/DECELERA...
