Re: A2A Aerostar Emergency Landing
Saw a news blurb about your successful gear up landing this morning and thought "oh no, I recognize that plane!". Really glad you guys made a serries of good choices and worked as a team to recover yourselves and the aircraft as safely as possible. Great idea calling an expert. Good airman...

I would be interested! Been giving MSFS a good college try recently (pun intended). Thanks for sharing!

Re: Can't Decide Between Military or Civilian
The Civ is great for IFR practice or touring -- and it carries enough fuel to easily far exceed my ability to focus on one flight sim session! I can't help but gravitate towards the Mil, though, because my very first flight sim experience was with Janes WWII Fighters and the Mil cockpit just kinda f...

Re: Landing gear checks.
Part of why the gear and flap operation can seem "random" is that your hydraulic system can hold some pressure between uses. It's actually a fantastically realistic facet of A2A's Accu-Sim modeling. The system holds pressure and then uses that stored pressure (which is not enough to comple...

Re: Suggestion: A2A Update
I think Neon's original request (correct me if I'm wrong) was to eliminate the multiple clicks from the batch updater for FSX. I no longer use FSX personally, but I do remember being frustrated with having to sit at my computer and be ready to click "ok" for each A2A aircraft found by the ...

Re: Mist in the cockpit ?
I particularly enjoy this effect when diving in a warbird after being at altitude for a long cruise. If conditions are right, it'll fog right up as the cold-soaked windscreen hits warm, moist air. Gotta remember those vents!

Re: Interesting question regarding scenery
There once was a neat add-on for one of Microsoft's sims (FSX I think) that loaded Google Earth data in real time as you flew. It was pretty slick and looked great minus the loss of autogen scenery. Also, this was before Google Earth had three-dimensional buildings and such, so it was very flat. How...

Re: To Jockey the Throttle
There's a somewhat curious (to my mind anyway) phrase I see in both the T-6 and P-51 manuals I was wondering about: to "jockey the throttle." As in "With this automatic regulator, you don’t have to jockey the throttle to maintain a constant manifold pressure" from the P-5...

Re: Need help with brake system
Just wanted to make sure this gets mentioned: you've definitely disabled autorudder in the realism settings, right? The brakes-change-with-rudder-input symptom makes me think that could be related. Might not be, though.
Goods luck!

Re: At what time, do you prefer to fly?
I tend to fly real-time. The time I have available for simming is early in the morning, and it's fun to get things going with the virtual sunrise and the real sunrise while sipping some coffee and doing aerobatics in the P-40 or approach work in the Civ 'Stang! -Ian C Sent from my XT1650 using Tapat...

Re: starting with out hand proping??
Depending on whether you are running special drivers like SPAD or its derrivatives for your switch panel, the panel may be sending a scripted start command that the A2A J3 normally doesn't use. Essentially, it may be sending a command to the sim that has no 3D panel button in the J3 or keystroke com...

Rudders Locked
Greetings folks! Decided to fly the 377 today and realized I didn't have it installed, which surprised me. After a quick install and refresher on the start sequence, I realized on takeoff roll why I didn't have it installed; last time it WAS installed, I couldn't get full rudder control for the life...

Re: Private pilot's license
I might be slightly biased, but another option to consider either now or further down the road is military flight training. Would require a lot of research and planning on your part, but it's darned good training! Best of luck with your goal; I learned to fly up to my commercial rating in the civili...
