Re: Need a bit of help from someone up and running in FS2020; subject, controller assignments.

MFS is an Xbox game. Its setups are designed to be used by those game kiddies with the fast thumbs to play with full screen menus. I'm sure they are very quick in setting up the whole in a fraction of time than we "serious simmers" do. I have however however found my way for using my preferred (cock...

Re: Need recommendation on Orbx scenery please

Unfortunately, the Global Airport Pack is not yet released for v5, as of now. I do miss that pack, as they did many interesting destinations with perfectly adequate representation. To be honest, I find many of the default airports in v5 very bad indeed. I've had some airports that are supposed to b...

Re: Has anyone done a pre-purchase on the new Microsoft FS 2020?

Can you install your A2A aircraft straight into the new FS2020 or will have to wait until A2A make a new installer?? NO !! It's not even worth asking. The answer is definitely NO !! :D You CAN'T use ANY existing installer on MFS !! NO !! Btw, please also note that the official naming of the new Sim...

I'll very likely get it because I've just this afternoon put in a 1TB 860 EVO that's sitting there empty!
Well, that's a valid reason.. :D same here. I've got even a 2 TB SSD sitting empty... So,whatever is scheduled to come, it will be used to get it busy....

Re: Has anyone done a pre-purchase on the new Microsoft FS 2020?

I was then given a long list of stuff that Asobo apparently are not interested in fixing. Ron, My guess is that "we" as Alpha/Betatesters were mainly "(mis)used" to test servers capabilites. Asobo obviously has its own Test Team wich works on a much more advanced build. The "Closed Betatest" was to...

There could be hope with the P3D V4/5 installers but it's probably not gonna work which is a shame as I'd love to take my P 51 and soon to be back B 17 for a flight in the new sim.
Nope, the data structure of MSF is completely different. Remember, it's basically an XBox application.

....What makes you (anyone) think that the current FSX birds won't fly in MSFS2020?
No, they won't. My guess ist that a simple port-over like from FSX to P3D is not to be expected. The differences seem to be remarkable.

Re: p3d v5 hf2 - A2A not showing

All A2A products for P3DV4 & V5 are installed outside the root folder of P3D. They are registered to P3D by the so called Add-on Package system. See here: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/sdk/add-ons/add-on_packages.html By re-installig P3D the package entry into the add-on.cfg is no longer present. Th...

No crashes at all here, but significantly better framerates. As stated above: everyone has his own experience as everyone has his own setup. I bet there are zillions of install variants among zillions of users. You'll never find one common way... :D

It's a bit like with Shroedinger's cat: Only when the box is opened (aka MSFS is officially reseased) you will find out... :D

So true.

Re: A hint for the Aircraft Configurators

Hello Oskar, This is a good point as presumably 4K monitors will only increase in popularity over the coming months and years (even if some of us are still stuck at 1920 x 1200 on 8-ish year old Dell U2412M, a monitor which remarkably still seems to be in production today. ) ... Thanks, N...

A hint for the Aircraft Configurators

The 4k Option in the Aircraft Configurators comes in very handy as I'm using a 4k Monitor (actually a 49" TV set) now on my "big" Simulator rig. All 2D Panels without this option are definitely no more easy to neither read or access ... especially when it comes to ageing eyes (despite glasses)...

Re: First vaccine to show actual efficacy against Covid 19 developed..

The vaccine will have aluminium and mercury components similar to other flu vaccines. Aluminium for one has been linked to Alzheimer’s. and to top it off they will more than likely rush this to market without extensive testing, and then expect us to have the shot every year. I’ll pass, thanks I fin...
