It's an anti piracy protection system, it signs all the files with a unique identifier that will allow A2A to see who purchased the copy of the product that was disseminated to other pirates. They can then ban that particular copy of the product from activating in future.

No you have to run it again, it's not an automatic updater at all, why on earth they call it that I have no idea. It's a small web installer that automatically downloads only the updates you need. It literally saves them download bandwidth and that's it.

By pressing the buttons on the YOKE indicated in the manual. I personally use a button on a hardware panel as I have a load of VRinsight panels including the MCP2, so I use a button on that toggle the various modes.
