Re: P47 engine cuts out.

It's been a long time... years in fact. But in a strike of nostalgia I felt the need to return to FSX (my simulator has been DCS for the lasts years) and fly my old P-47 with its ancient Accusim tech that I used to enjoy so much in the past. As I was dragging the FSX files through several windows re...

Re: Prepar3D

I'm naive in nature, so I'm hoping that those details shown in Flight come from fractal techniques like the ones used in Outerra engine and not just the usual brute force approach of massive real world data. I've seen all the videos done with the Outerra engine and now I find that legacy landscape e...

Re: Trimming in FSX vs reality.

... I've never found any force feedback joystick that in my opinion realistically replicates the feeling of flight. ... The problems is that the hardware only does what the software tells it to do, and there are no simulations sending the correct data to the ffb joystick. Exceptions may be Condor s...

Re: Prepar3D

Yes, the recreated water tanks bottoms might be the case, alongside the better mesh, and autogen textures, i have a question, have you checked, how the situation looks underwater ? :) Im asking about a general opinion about this feature, and have they changed something in default rotorcraft physics...

Re: Trimming in FSX vs reality.

I have a ffb joystick and fs-force software for fsx. Its main purpose it's to use the ability of the ffb joystick to change the position of the centering force to simulate what happens in a real aircraft when you actuate on the elevator trim. I recomend you to visit the fsforce web. There you can fi...

FSX - Assigning Hat switch position to commands

Yesterday I lost my custom standard.xml file after adding a couple of commands by hand. Probably a typo. And then FSX decided to redo the whole file. No, I didn't do a backup, it was supposed to be a quick and easy edit :'( Well, after expending some time redoing the controls, only one thing is left...

Re: Scott, Thought on an A-26?

I used to love that movie. It showed me, when I was just a teenager, that I was not alone in this sick obsession for airplanes and everything related to them. 'Top gun' was the equivalent to a ????? movie for aviation enthusiastic, but 'Always' is addressed to the hearth.

Sweet interview.
I really think that a talented film maker could make a intriguing movie with the story of the F-16 development. Is Spielberg around?

Re: 1,000 aircraft FSX Corsair formation

The question arised by Snuffy of where did you find time to fly 1000 planes one after another still remains obscured  It would be nice if FSX would have an option to use fixed simulation time between frames. That would allow to do ultrasmooth renders no matter the fps using fs recorder adva...

So I have four choices : - Book a go-around plane ticket to USA - Buy one in a "local store", I tried Singapore, Bangkok and HK, nothing. - Make one myself  , no way - Purchase a new bundle You should really think about making one. You can find the dimmensions on the net. I did m...

Re: Future toy for the future P51

I had the emagin z800. It has a horizontal FOV of about 32.5 degrees and a resolution of 800x600. But I had loads of fun with it. I used it for hours and hours, mostly with FS. Also, I discovered the amazing world of stereoscopic graphics with it when almost none talked about that. It also was a joy...

Re: A2A and Microsoft Flight?

What I see is a general tendence of the biggest companies concentrating their efforts in cannibalizing all the anarchy and freedom that software and hardware development at anyone's reach, and internet is bringing to us and restore the status quo. But worst, because this time they are going to use t...

Re: Review @ flightsim.com

What I find a bit disturbing is the sentence "Accu-Sim oversees every action you make with the Thunderbolt". It makes me think that he's not fully awared that accusim is actually a simulation of the engine and other systems running parallel to FSX.
