Hi jedasa,
As far as short training vids I was planning to do - due to what I will term generally as "unforeseen circumstances," regretfully, I never produced any more videos.
My apologies to Scott and the forum members here at A2A.

Re: Hardcore IFR freaks: Give me your best shot!
Well.......if you had asked me this 50 years ago I'd have suggested a teardrop entry hold at a VOR intersection using the only avionics available, a NARCO Superhomer !. Doing that today with an HSI is sheer heaven ! :-)))) Hey Dudley, I thought maybe you were being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the na...

Re: Hardcore IFR freaks: Give me your best shot!
I'm not sure if this is an appropriate place to ask this Hi Graham. As good a place as any. A new thread in the Flight Academy sub-forum would have worked too. Ordinarily I'd say enter a mid-field crosswind for left traffic. A couple of major problems with that: • The approach chart says, &qu...

Re: IT'S OUT!!!
Is it flyable with one throttle quadrant? I used a single throttle during my testing almost exclusively. No problems whatsoever (using the Saitek X65F). I did decide to try to set throttles individually recently - just so I could tweak BMEP settings (right now the engines very close as it is with t...

Re: Navigation
Rob I was always told to plot on either "dead reckoning or estimated position until the next fix. This was plotted on the chart. To this day with GPS and autopilot etc I still do that on a yacht.A lot of people laugh but they will not when there is a power failure such as a short or a battery ...

Re: Navigation
To me, using a GPS, takes all the thinking out of it. Sometimes, you want that -- i.e. less can be more. http://www.rita.dot.gov/bts/sites/rita.dot.gov.bts/files/publications/national_transportation_statistics/html/table_02_14.html In 1975, 1,252 GA pilots were killed in GA aircraft in the U...

Re: Navigation
Learn how to Navigate like everyone that has a Private Pilot's license has to do. That is what makes aviation and flying interesting, you have to learn something. to do it. Dead Reckoning... yes. Pilotage is going to be tougher for an aircraft such as this. One can use VOR and/or NDB navigation. DM...

Re: A2A Connie manuals online
But that's not how it reads Alex. It reads like if there's no GTN750 there's no "proper" GPS because that's the only GPS you reference in your thread and in that post. I disagree Chris. I think just as he explained: Nothing insulting there, you may instead reread my posting ;). My stateme...

Re: A2A Connie manuals online
I'll take a GPS over an ADF any day. No reason not to, ever, in today's world. Personally in the sim, I like both. I had a blast one year on a Sim-Outhouse challenge flying the B377 from Australia to Argentina -- island hopping just using NDBs. The trepidation watching the ADF needle, knowing you w...

Re: A2A Connie manuals online
guys... thats a Connie... take a step away from being a child of the magenta line... that would just ruin the immersion and the airplane. If you are not trained in "standard" navigation, you always can ask for help.. there are many many forums, even A2A features a Flight Academy forum... ...

Re: Lycoming O-540 cold start
Surprisingly little is written of the effectiveness of these preservation procedures, as silly as they may sound on paper, and ought to be good targets for religious wars. The thing I believe is that they are extremely seldom employed in practice, even if many airplanes are even more seldom flown d...
