Re: Cessna C177 Cardinal - what went wrong?
Years ago I began my primary training in a C-177 and eventually did my first solo in it. Ours was a 180 hp, constant speed prop. It was a great airplane to fly but could be a little tricky on landing, particularly in the flare. I've got almost 500 hours now and I'd love to try fly one again to see i...

Re: CFI Checkride - Passed!
Outstanding! Make sure to never let it expire! And I'm surprised there's an opening "in a few months" as opposed to can you take Bobby up for an intro flight in 5 mins? There's no easy way through the CFI checkride; you simply have to know you're stuff, and you proved it today. There are ...

Re: Commercial Checkride passed!
Thanks for the kind words!
The school I'm at told me that a couple instructors are leaving soon and they need replacements. They hinted that I should try get CFI done by the end of March. Hopefully I can pull that off and make my current desk job a thing of the past!

Commercial Checkride passed!
Hello all! I am so pleased to announce that as of this afternoon I officially earned my commercial pilot certificate! To get to this point (including college) has taken 12 years of work. It's surreal to have the rating after so many years of working towards it. I just turned 30 on Saturday so I'm st...

My wife has come into my office and asked if I was finished playing before and my reply was "No...the engines just warmed up..." Glad you're getting in hours!AviationAtWar wrote:I've only done 300 hours in that same time frame and my wife thinks that's excessive. I better show her this.

Re: Commercial Training - Photo Heavy
Thanks for all the kind words folks! Brilliant stuff, best of luck on the checkride, let us know when you have that rating. Beautiful images! How'd you find the Cutlas compared to the Cessna's you had flown before? cheers, Lewis I find the Cutlass to be pretty close to the Skyhawk. I enjoy the impro...

Re: Commercial Training - Photo Heavy
I was flying the Skyhawk on this flight as it is cheaper per hour than the Cutlass. No gear down would have meant something went terribly wrongIan Warren wrote:Great photos , why the gear down ?

Commercial Training - Photo Heavy
Hello all! After completing my instrument rating back in June, I am now almost finished with my commercial rating. Last night I finally logged over 250 flight hours. I just have one more flight to make and then get the ok from the school to sign up for the checkride. It's been a pretty fun rating wi...

F4F Wildcat model
Hello all! I've been having computer troubles as of late and have not had the energy to tackle fixing the issues. On the plus side, it has allowed me more free time to do other things. I recently decided to build a model kit I bought probably 10 or more years ago. It's the first one I've done in abo...
