Re: Combat Flight Simulator 3
I got it to run but not well. It behaved oddly. I was able to install the big freeware WWII mod packages but frankly they only seemed to make everything worse. My nostalgic trip down memory lane lasted all of one evening. Some things really are better left in the past. Anyhow, the FirePower CD was t...

Re: Steam A2A Add-ons
If you already have the Cub and Accufeel, all that is left to buy as Steam DLC are Aircraft Factory products. If there were ever patches to update them, I think the patches can be downloaded and applied directly to FSX Steam install. I've never seen Aircraft Factory products included in the common u...

Re: Steam A2A Add-ons
Take Lewis up on his offer to restore your old purchases. The old FSX products work great in FSX Steam Edition too, you just have to point the installers to the FSX folder in your Steam directory on your hard drive. Edit: All of the Steam DLC aircraft appear to be the same versions as sold at the A2...

Re: A2A on Steam
If you have the FSX versions of Cherokee/Harvard just reinstall them into Steam FSX. You'll have to point the installer to the correct location, which is something like (drive letter) Steam/Steam Apps/Common/FSX.

Re: Ping Nick; Quick question for clarity
I'm frustrated. Layers of terrain textures are conflicting with each other, flashing on and off. It seems to only be happening where the ORBX coverage is only Global Base/Vector/LC.

Re: Ping Nick; Quick question for clarity
Dudley, I just did the full reinstall and I had no apparent problems. Background: my P3Dv5 is on a separate drive, I install my addons directly to the P3D folder, and I have ORBX scenery including Global Base, Vector, Open LC North America and Europe, True Earth Washington, Pacific Northwest, Northe...

Re: New version of P3Dv5.1 out today.........opinions?
The site says to install the new client. The only download I'm finding for v5.1 is the full version at 22GB. Do I download that? Not sure where else to look.
Edit: I just noticed the link "+ Individual Component Downloads (click to expand)" and found the Install_Client.msi.

Re: New version of P3Dv5.1 out today.........opinions?
I'm new to P3D. Is it easy to update to the next version? Will I have to reinstall all my ORBX content?

Re: P3D???
My question how is p3d different or better than fsx? as from all the youtube reviews I have seen it seems to be just a "pimped" up version of fsx. How good are the physics do you get crashes like you used to in fsx? how much money will I have to invest to make this sim to make it look decent? is th...

Re: RTX 3070 will kill a RTX 2080 Ti for $500 ???
The 2080Ti is now installed. In initial tests I saw a 10-20 fps improvement over the 1070Ti when testing at KLAX ("gray and rainy" weather, medium terrain and shadow settings, minimum traffic, ORBX California, default Maule aircraft). Maximum fps achieved was 70 with average around 45 fps. I did not...

Re: RTX 3070 will kill a RTX 2080 Ti for $500 ???
My question, as a person with a 1080 running P3Dv5 at 40-60FPS on mostly high settings at 1080p, would upgrading to a 3070 make any significant difference? Would there be any point if I don't plan to upgrade to 4k? In theory the 1070Ti delivers a few frames less than the 1080; and the 2080Ti a few ...
