Re: Collings Foundation B-17G Crash

Indeed, I just saw them up my way a few weeks ago. I've been listening to archived recordings from app/twr. Heard them say something about the "#4 engine, we'd like to land and blow it out", but he was stepped on by another aircraft. Wonder if fuel starvation or contamination played a role...

Collings Foundation B-17G Crash

Happened this morning about an hour and a half ago. Unclear about what caused it, but sounds like it flew into a building or hangar while attempting to land. Reported multiple injuries. Losing this vintage airplanes is absolutely heartbreaking. Hoping that all the involved people are okay. https://w...

Re: You've GOT to be kidding me...

Scott is right on the money here; the P-40 in question will most certainly be repaired if all the resources are available. This P-51 crashed outside of Rexburg, Idaho in 2006 (pilot walked away): http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q104/jdavidboyd/100_0605.jpg It has been completely rebuilt and flie...

Re: Ground handling characteristics

I've noticed now that I fixed my brakes I have less hydraulic leaks. I bet the sim was messing with it when they were barley applied.

Tailspin, did you do the 300hr tbo instead of 1000? I've blown a few wastgates and such by 150hrs

Re: Ground handling characteristics

Got the dynamic friction lua installed. Seems to be working nicely. I had to tweak my brake sensitivity too as they seemed to be on like 2% all the time.

Some of the stock jets with that mod seems to roll a bit too quickly but for what I need it for, it's a good mod.

Ground handling characteristics

Let me just start by saying how much I love flying the B17. I've owned it for years (back before it was even accusimmed) and it is almost exclusively what I fly on fsx. Over the years of flying it I have noticed one annoyance. Getting the thing to start rolling on the ground requires and enormous am...

Re: How to maximize range and efficiency with the Mustang

Awesome tips. Thanks Scott. Love putting this plane through its paces and seeing what it can really do. One stop to get from coast to coast is quite amazing for a GA aircraft, in half the time too!

Re: Here's a new one...

You may want to click on a corner of the window, and make them bigger if you can (I'd try, but not at home)... I had an issue like this ironically with the PMDG NGX using the pop-up windows. For some reason lately FSX has been shrinking my pop up windows causing texture distortions like that. So ho...

Re: Here's a new one...

Cherokee, I also have this issue but it was so minor I didn't bother to post but wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I first noticed this with one of the pop-ups in the P-40. My screen resolution is 1920x1080. Glad to know I'm not alone. Not sure it applies to this problem, but I did hav...

Here's a new one...

Let me start by saying... Wow... This plane rocks. Once again, a stellar release... So I'm thinking this could just be on my client end because nobody else seems to have this problem, but here goes... The aircraft popup windows (Shift+2-7) for both my P-40 and P-51 seems to have some oddity on some ...
